In Russia's case I think it is more of a tradition thing. The German Luffwaffe still use the iron cross for a similar reason.

obviously.. people in the power do have all the luxiries in their life. i have also read & heard that only those people are allowed to live in pyongyong, who are close to the ruling pary elite.. man.. this whole setup sounds so mysterious & intriguing!!

Both are quite bad, but I am guessing the kissing bit is an actual act...

Our (muslim) culture is different to both North Korea's or USAs. Once the mod has allowed it (which they have), I wouldn't comment on the issue...
