North Korea Showcases 10000 kms Range KN-08 Ballistic Missile

Lots of new hardware showcased. Not sure if some of them are just for show. I doubt North Korean military technology is as advanced as they pretend to be. Kim does not look friendly. He looks tense. This is still a bad relationship. South Korea is a better partner for us as long as they tell off the Americans. And they did when Park went to Beijing. Probably China is just trying to stabilize relations now to avoid further deterioration after Kim killed his pro-China uncle. I am inclined now to believe reports from South Korea media saying that Kim treats China with hostility is correct. Not to mention how he tried to ally with USA against China with basketball diplomacy just like China did ping pong diplomacy. The guy is a psychopath. As long as he stays within parameters, we reluctantly accept him. If he makes trouble, PLA must sweep into Pyongyang. So maybe this parade is also sabre rattling against Chinese intervention. Certainly North Korea nukes are not in China's interest. North Korea is almost equally likely to go to war against China as go to war against USA.

As far as i remember you criticised indias nuclear arsenal and military build up.... then y r u cheering north koreas build up...???

i don't like wars nor will support any war-monger... but you must see what became of other socialist states who were not so constantly fierce in projecting deterrent power - afghanistan, iraq, libya, syria - destroyed by massive international conspiracy... dprk is a small self-sufficient illegally-sanctioned country that has bravely withstood 60 years of nato's capitalist/imperialist ambitions and the few times it has spoken recently on international affairs, it was in the right manner.

compared, india has perhaps the greatest challenges in the world along social, economic, political and cultural lines, which must be addressed to the highest priority via scientific understanding... according to a ndtv study, between 1997 and 2010, 200,000+ farmer/related-people suicided only because of india's extreme capitalism and unthinking social norms... did you know of this?? and i address just one issue among dozens more... in such a situation, do you want the indian military to enlarge even more ( for a decade the largest importer of armaments in the world ) and keep protecting the wrong system inside or reduce it drastically to become a security force and turn the guns inside and remove the putrid, reactionary, capitalist, oppressive elements and turn india into a progressive society by adopting scientific political system rather than the fake-democracy system the british left for us??

also, it is sad that you mention india in this thread because i must remind you or let you know that in the korea war, indian military participated alongside nato ( under uno umbrella ) in a imposed war that led to death of four million north koreans... it is sad for me to say my country participated so but india's state ideology and social structure can change for the better, leading to alliances with the world's oppressed, bullied, exploited, progressive and freedom-seeking. :)

read this 2012 article from kcna ( dprk news agency ) - "victory of socialism is the inevitability of history" ( http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:jbQSb7_F43MJ:www.kcna.co.jp/item/2012/201211/news11/20121111-05ee.html &cd=4&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=in&client=firefox-a )... wise words it has.

The KN-08 is a fake missile, and nor their primitive atomic bombs are ready to be weaponized.

Fck NK, they are just trying to create more troubles for us.

I'm sure @Nihonjin1051 feels like this every-time someone quotes him in the China & Far East section:

That section is just like this video clip:lol:.

So one needed to bring the thread back to reality. Unfortunately so many people here live in fantasy land that I'm sure their in no hurry to leave and return to the real world.

Bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!

LOOOOOL!!!!!!

I literally died laughing !

They're going to use that as a tool to keep China interested in them. Tbh, NK is more of a threat to China than Japan. Specially with this Kim on his throne.

. .
Being as small country as they are, NK is a tough nut to crack for all powers. You have to give them that.

Not really. They owe their very existence to the Peoples Volunteer Army of the People's Republic of China. Without China, Pyongyang would have been taken by United Nations and US Armies over 6 decades ago.

Some historical fact checks, buddy.

. .
Without China, they are just a little ant in front of the US.

100% correct. In fact, if you look at the history of Korean existence, whenever Korea (Joseon/ Choen) was under a military invasion (either from Japan in the 16th century to UN / ROK / USA in the 1950s) , the only thing that prevented Korea's total subjugation was in China's rescue on the last minute, and it always involved the defense of Pyongyang. During the Imjin Wars, Japan had practically wiped out Joseon's fleet and army, and the only last inch of territory that was left to conquer was Pyongyang region. Before Hideyoshi could launch his last crushing victory over the Joseons, the Ming Army under the command of 宋應昌 (Song Yingchang) helped push back the Japanese Armies. In fact if it was not for the armies under the command of General Song, the Joseons would have been subjugated by 1598.

Joseon was hanging by an inch. The Ming Dynasty rescued them from total and complete annihilation. So, the Koreans should be very, very, very grateful for the Chinese.

We don't really mind if they want to be ungrateful toward us, because we were also doing this for our geopolitical purpose.

If NK is in trouble again, then China is going to save their a$$ again for sure, not because we love the Kim dynasty.

The Kim dynasty needs to be displaced for sure, but their party is going to stay there.

Korea has always been the buffer state for China's Northeast, and has long been so for what? Almost 2 millenia now. In that regard, Korea's existence will continue since it serves China's security.

Besides, it is important to keep Pyongyang prodded up. There are close to 30 million North Koreans; if their government collapses, they will flood the borders of Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang. It will be, as you probably know already, a huge humanitarian crisis. I don't think China wants that.

So you see how a war in North Korea will affect everyone. This is why China has to make sure Kim calms down , and not only that, reduces instances of brinkmanship.

Well, China always has a contingent plan for backup.

To declare the martial law and to put a new puppet government in charge.

Lol, there is nothing to gain from befriending DPRK.

define "gain".

We can trade with them, but we will not import anymore of them into our country.

for their part, dprk would also be legitimate in fearing this... :)
Nonetheless, yakuza often picture themselves as saviors of traditional Japanese virtues in a postwar society, sometimes forming ties with right-wing groups espousing the same views and attracting dissatisfied youths to their ranks.

Yakuza groups in 1990 were estimated to number more than 3,300 and together contained more than 88,000 members. Although concentrated in the largest urban prefectures, yakuza operate in most cities and often receive protection from highranking officials. After concerted police pressure in the 1960s, smaller gangs either disappeared or began to consolidate in syndicate-type organizations. In 1990, three large syndicates (Yamaguchi-gumi, Sumiyoshi-kai, Inagawa-kai) dominated organized crime in the nation and controlled more than 1,600 gangs and 42,000 gangsters. Their number have since swelled and shrunk, often coinciding with economic conditions.

No more 5th column forces that can embolden Chongryon.

they are japanese citizens, is it not?? :)

To declare the martial law and to put a new puppet government in charge.

puppet government?? what would be then the difference between usa and china?? :)
