North Korea Attacks South Korea - Latest Update

.
I doubt it. NK isn't Iraq. These people are fanatics, their agents regularly volunteer for suicide mission and the military is just about the only thing that is well funded in that country. (the only nice luxury cars on the streets belong to the military)

Those suicide missions were long time ago. Times have changed and people are fed up with their regime. Numbers of North Korean fleeing their country is increasing by the day. Even in Iraq military was wel funded but when war broke out only small numbers Iraqi units fought till the death.

.
Now the interesting question is, IF everything goes to sht, whose special forces are going to go in to secure the nuclear missiles sites pointed at Japan and Seoul.

Also if the country collapses and both China and the US send forces to secure the country, we'll see the PLA and the US Army face to face for the first time in 60 years. A potentially catastrophic situation.

I think North Korean navy will be wiped out within 1 hour if this conflict goes into full scale war.

If the South could it would have done so after the sinking of its frigate, but of course, the reality is quite different. You see, those who breathe fresh air instead of smoke generated by dope, for them it's not too difficult to figure out what's causing what.

If you say so.

but if you think Iraq's army was well funded before 2003 then you haven't read the reports about the effect of sanctions/periodic air strikes on the Iraq army between 1991-2002. The Iraqi army's combat efficiency was pretty much in shambles.

It just might be the repeat of the Soviets and the Americans coming face to face in Germany.

I know that Iraq was dealt a hard blow by sanctions, but still a lot of the Iraqi resources went to the Iraqi military. The Iraqi military was well funded by selling oil on the blackmarket by pumping oil to syria and receiving billions of dollars in cash. Iraqi's were and still are good soldiers.

They can do it, but they are afraid of their big brother CHINA.

Wonder what's wrong withe DPRK elite. Aren't they happy enough crushing their own people and sending them to political camps that now they have to attack their southern partners too?

South Korea should say "enough is enough" and go for it. The difference is that South Koreans have the smartness and dedication to rebuild again but to have a perennial trouble above it would cost them more in long run than taking a one-time all-out war against DPRK.

ROK has taken already too much trouble. I think it should stop being pacifist and exact grim retribution against DPRK.
