Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif on Tuesday said that no one is above law, and if necessary, opposition leader Khaleda Zia might be arrested.
No one is above the law. Khaleda Zia cannot shun the responsibility of the violence in the last few days, he said talking to reporters in front of the AL central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the city.
Hanif alleged that the defeated force of 1971 is creating anarchy in the country to make Bangladesh a failed state.
Referring to the arrest of BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, he said that Fakhrul was arrested with specific allegation.
A day after filing a case against him in connection with Sunday's violence, police on Monday arrested Mirza Fakhrul when he was leaving the BNP's Nayapaltan office in the evening.
Police on Monday also arrested 30 BNP activists from in front of the party office in the capital.
