Nobody shares Pakistan’s vision for Afghanistan:Walter Mead.

We will be next only if we can not play our cards well. I am sure we will not be next. itnay saaray bumb hein hamaray paas, agar ham ne 5-6, 5-6 kar kay bahot saaray doosron ko de diye to puri duniya mein museebat parrh jayegi. Indians call it nuclear blackmail.

However, Iran ka number aanay wala hai.

You never played ur cards perfectly thats y u lost 40k and billlions.Otherwise how a general can throw a country on unending war?..where were those cards? Did U.S ask u while signing MOU with A_stan?U never even knew when obama came n gone?Game of iran is not to destroy iran but to make it pro american and do u think that U.S cant get iran? ..they can get them with in one day..

Even pakistan is much stronger than iran and lol...have u read the statement of vajpayee during kargil war?...he said that dont blackmail us on nukes,we will wipe u out frm earth and same 5-6 bomb if delivered to A-stan den lene ke dene pad jayenge tumko

As i said that let U.S finish iran mess den be ready... :)

Paksitan was a strong player. its influence is decreasing with the fall of taliban . The USAID to Pak military is redcuing , soft loan from china increasing, Aid to Afghanistan is increasing , Indian influence is slowly building up, Palns to circumvent Pakistan ports thru Iran is being undertaken by India, Anti pak Elements in Afghan are being allowed to foster in Afghanistan.

the only way Pak can hold its sway if if it succeeds in destabilising Afghanistan after Nato withdrawal and at the same time eliminate the ttp, take back complete control of FATA and rout in indian and US humint

Indian influence is merely based on US presence there. After withdrawal Indians will be and still are in a fix to decide which side to select whether US, Russia or Iran.

As far as Pakistan is concerned we are faced more than double the number of international aggressors so our complications surely are far greater at the moment.

All three because no one has problem with our presence. :enjoy:

US is happy with out presence , Russia is ok with it as long we dont become Pro-Us and Iran , hell plans are being made to develop Iran ports for AFghan use by India....so there to full mark :yahoo:.....

your complications are not just number of aggressors and increasing insurgency but also your economic situation .....From USAID to China Loans.... and the defense spending is even cutting into education budget....

Pakistan is still a very strong player indeed.

How will they build Afghanistan. How will all the support machinery and sustenance would be supplied through. Iran where Chahbahar is, which is a shallow water port and can not sustain large ships. Supply through Iran would not be acceptable to the Americans and the West, till Iran turns pro-American. Indian stuff transported to Afghanistan is over Pakistani air space. Afghanistan's logistical life line as a country goes through Pakistan. It still has around 2-3 million Afghan refugees in Pakistan and what may happen if they are asked to return - increase the burden on Afghanistan.

Yes we have problems in FATA and terrorism supported by India through Afghanistan. When a certain threshold is crossed, India would go back to the hey-days of problems within India and Pakistan may be forced to provide moral and diplomatic support to freedom fighters inside Indian NE and Kashmir etc.

Don't even think for a moment that Pakistan can be ignored.

All three because no one has problem with our presence. :enjoy:

We have a problem. And if we up the ante, you have a major problem, US, Iran and Russia notwithstanding.

Few things I dont understand:

If pakistan truly stops medling in afghanistan, afghans would not need to leverage itself to India, russia US or anyone. Why cant pakistan let afghanistan be an true independent nation with its very own national agenda.

@hasnain0099; Befriending Uzbeks/hazaras/tajiks doesn't mean abandoning pushtuns. Pakistan if itself wasn't so heavily biased, could have been the bridge between two sides.
Another problem is the picture pakistan paints of current afghan government "as NA headed by puppet pashtun" and very easily overlooks pashtun leader of the afghan government like
Sayed Ashaq Gailani
Ahmad Shah Ahmadzai
Hamyon Shah Aasifi
Abdul Hadi Khalilzai
Mir Mahfuz Nedahi
Mohammed Ibrahim Rashid
Wakil Mangal
Ghulam Mohammad Rigi
Bashir Ahmad Bizhan
Hedayat Amin Arsala
Mahbob-U-lah Koshani

11 leaders out of 24 are pashtuns,

@xyxmt:
Why should pakistan get the right to dictate what Afghanistan does, would you like america or India interfering with your forieg relations. It is astounding that India can have good relations with a predominantly muslim afghanistan but two muslim neighbors cannot have good relations, why can't pakistan although sharing the same religion have better relations with the northern alliance. Why can't pakistan sweep under the rug the past relation with NA and have stable relations with them, especially when you guys so easily have forgotten your past with russia and are eager for co-operations with them.

The nightmare of pakistan seems to be afghanistan becoming an Indian ally and being put under a vice grip just like India is right now under pakistan and china from both sides. The part of the nightmare is afghanistan becoming a staging ground for attacks, cross border firing etc. If you observe the situation, its far worse than the pakistani nightmare, because if pakista keep propping up taliban, US will never leave the region ad then pak will be under the vise with one US and the other Indian Jaw.
