Nobel Peace Prize: Pak comes out in support of China

Liu doesn't have the right to be a terrorist, at least terrorists are brave enough to pick up their guns and fight to the end. He's a common street thug.

"We all respect the Nobel Peace Prize. Most winners deserve the prizes they get. Nobel Prizes by and large reflect the western world view. The winners in Asia are never leaders who brought great change. The man that did more good than anyone was Deng Xiaoping. When he came to power 800 million people were living on less than one dollar a day. Thirty years later on after the results of his reforms, 200 million lived on less than one dollar a day. Six hundred million people were lifted out of poverty.

Will he ever get a Nobel Peace Prize? Never. Because of the western world view that the prize must be given to dissidents in Asia.

The former leader of Korea. What has Obama brought? Where is the peace in Iraq? In Afghanistan? How can you give him a Nobel Peace Prize? He is a wonderful guy but he has achieved nothing. Deng Xiaoping saved 600 million people and he will never get a Nobel Peace Prize. That's why it is important to step outside the western world view."

Was Mr Liu Xiaobo not paid by the "National Endowment of Democracy" in the U.S and for that reason he was put in jail?

Western World is full of hypocrisy.I applaud China for standing up to Western Imperialism.I mean these westerns are on some poppy **** these are the same people who built colonies abroad bombed other countries yet they have the balls to speak about other countries internal matters.

Freedom or no freedom. We will support China on all issues. :pakistan::china:
I see a lot of Pakistani supporting Chinese position irrespetive of merit like as can be seen in above post which is a bit ridiculous
Coming back on topic it definitely shows western hippocracy n i think as china grows more formidable these type of things are goin to increase only
OTOH i think chinese gov. should also liberalize somewhat on censorship as they have done with economy n let dissidents voice themselves as this will give outlet to disgruntled people n i think china as a society has matured enough to take dissent calmly :china:

'Nobel for Chinese dissident harms award's prestige'

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday criticised the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to jailed Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo, saying the decision politicised the accolade and harmed its prestige.

Liu, a 54-year-old former university professor serving an 11-year sentence for subversion, was awarded the peace prize on October 8 for his “long and non-violent struggle for fundamental human rights in China.”

Pakistan's foreign ministry in a statement said “Pakistan is surprised and deeply perturbed” over the award by the Nobel Peace Prize Committee.

“This decision runs contrary to the established principles for the award of the Prize and therefore cannot but be seen to be detracting from the prestige associated with this award.”

China is a strong ally of Pakistan and Islamabad draws heavily on Beijing for its defence and infrastructure needs.

The award sparked a furious reaction from China, which on Thursday said that Liu Xiaobo is a convicted criminal and the honour is equivalent of “encouraging crime.”

The Pakistani statement said Liu was sentenced under Chinese law and “has done nothing that could possibly qualify him” for the award.

“The politicisation of the Nobel Peace Prize for the purposes of interference in the domestic of affairs of states is not only contrary to the recognized principles of inter-state conduct, but also a negation of the underlying spirit conceived by the founder of the prize,” it said.

The foreign ministry also praised China for “upholding the principles and norms of international law, humanity and civilized conduct”

"China has made bold strides on the road to socio-economic development," it said and added “the spirit of humanity that imbues the Chinese civilization is a shining example to the rest of the world.” -AFP

Those (Chinese) are a perfect example of how people are being systematically and relentlessly brainwashed by western media and state propaganda. The reality is Pakistan will never become a danger to China, but India probably will. Anyone with half a brain can see this.

Nobel Peace Prize: Pak comes out in support of China

Pakistan on Friday came out in support of its ``all-weather friend’’ China by questioning the decision to award the Nobel Peace Prize 2010 to Liu Xiaobo ``for his long and non-violent struggle for fundamental human rights in China’’. Beijing has viewed the selection as a display of the arrogance and prejudice of the Nobel Committee against China.

In a statement that came exactly a week after the announcement was made in Oslo last Friday, the Foreign office said Pakistan was ``surprised and deeply perturbed’’ by the choice; adding that the politicisation of the Prize for the purposes of interference in the domestic affairs of states is not only contrary to the recognized principles of inter-State conduct but also a negation of the underlying spirit conceived by the founder of the Prize.

Maintaining that Mr. Liu was sentenced by the Chinese judicial system and has ``done nothing that could possibly qualify him for the Prize’’, Pakistan said the decision runs contrary to the established principles for the award of the Prize and ``therefore cannot but be seen to be detracting from the prestige associated with this award’’.

Pakistan, according to the Foreign Office, deeply values the implementation of the commitments that the People’s Republic of China has made for upholding the principles and norms of international law, humanity and civilized conduct.

``China has made bold strides on the road to socio-economic development. Pakistan has no doubt that under its sagacious and visionary leadership, the Chinese people will continue to pursue their national development priorities which have brought about substantial improvement in the standard of living and the human rights of 1.3 billion people. The spirit of humanity that imbues the Chinese civilization is a shining example to the rest of the world.’’

This is extreme slavery and following.
Pakistan proves its dependence over China, right here.

Many Chinese want Democracy,US supports Liu,but Pakistan follows the Chinese government, sorry to say,but its extreme Toe Licking, while many Chinese themselves want Democracy and Pakistan isn't with them but with the government.

Pakistan is being self centered and worried about itself here.
