What's new

No, thank you: Nepal asks India to not send old clothes as relief

Leftover food may be insulting, but they over-reacted to the old clothes thing.
I've seen a video that someone posted capturing the earthquake; 5 small footages in total, only 3 of which actual scenes from the day. The comments section for that video is filled with people harassing viewers about how much money they are sending and what sacrifices they are doing for Nepal !!

I sympathize with what they are goig through, but their arrogance is unbelievable.

Yeah people these days are unbelievable. I remember few busy taking selfies infront of Dharahara tower. Height of *******.

I don't think the OP knows the difference between a government and a non government organization!

Comprehension seems to be in short supply as also brain cells.
However there's no shortages of idiots considering they are either incompetent or unable to digest the news so easy escape for these morons is to attack the OP.

Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh governments, besides the Indian Red Cross Society, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Dena Bank and the MHA are among those to have sent relief supplies through the rail route.

Pakistanis and lankan's are literally making a mountain out of molehill , idiots .there is nothing wrong with sending used clothes there are people out there on streets whose lost pretty much everything, as long as clothes are treated and washed properly i guess its good to use . ..

i advocate it ,.please donate here ...
During the Pakistan 2005 Earthquake/Tsunami and Haiti Earthquake, Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust® sent massive containers full of shoes, blankets and clothes for the disaster victims. And recently we have sent clothes for 10,000 families to the flood victims of Pakistan.

Nepal's arrogance throughout this entire incident is hard to believe! First you have the PM of Nepal coming out and lambasting foreign nations for not fulfilling their promises of aid, then the COAS of Nepal's army is critical of Indian Helicopters; flight paths despite the fact those helos are only in Nepal help the Nepalese authorities (including the Army) who only have a handful of helos themselves. And yes, you have very bizarre and aggressive comments being made on social media against Indian relief operations in Nepal.

This surely shouldn't be the way you thank those who have come to you in your time of need.

.
and here come Indians to defend it ... lolz
some people never change

Nobody is defending faltu people here. I agree that some Indian journalists are becoming more and more arrogant with India's growing influence. These guys should have exhibited sympathy and humbleness towards Nepalese. But again without India's help this disaster would have taken much more lives and it would have been beyond Nepal government capability to tackle the issue on its own. Appreciate when it is due.

nepal did the right thing... it is a matter of self-respect.

and india has a big garments industry, centered in south india... the government can buy up a large consignment of those new clothes and encourage the manufacturers to donate.
Why? India owes Nepal NOTHING, they are hardly being gracious as it stands.

Foreign funding to NGOs has been stopped so they are doing whatever they can with their drying up funds. Greenpeace is about to shut down in a month. :(

Nothing surprising here and anyone who thinks this is some point scoring exercise is off his mind. It happens all the time. During disasters several 'do gooders' think they'll help out by giving old ckothes that someone can use. They don't realize that this is usually not acceptable to victims. Forget Nepal, even within India when disasters happen now information is given out not to give old clothes.

There is a wide spread agitation among Nepali people that their government was mute spectator to all that is happening around them. Hence this is a futile exercise by Nepali government to show the world who is in control. Though I agree that few time Indian government has crossed red line by becoming over enthusiastic. After all Nepal is foreign country

It's the communist parties raising voice in Nepal not everyone. India's speedy relief efforts made China jittery and they asked the communists in Nepal to whine a little.

The Indians tried to malign Pakistan with Beef story, now it seems, humiliation and rebuttals is hitting them in the face.
Buddy that beef issue was bit sensationalised by our media crooks(you might have come across a trend #Indian media go back) not by GOI.....
Same is the case the now, GOI is not involved in distribution of clothes but the some NGO.
Btw you can't deny generosity of India or Indians who responded to calamity at the very hour it hit the Nepal.....
My organization also sent mail yesterday to help Nepal in the needy hour....
@Ammyy kuch de rahe Ho ya PLI or increment ka wait kar rahe Ho..... Haha...
