I understand it's embarrassing and fills you and others with shame. Allow me to point out that I am not a braver person for raising the issue. I am lucky to live in the U.S.A. where we have - and enforce - the freedoms you lack to exercise the rights of a democratic citizen.

The Pakistani State has chosen to adopt anti-semitism - unjustifiable and unquestionable hatred - as a tool of its rule. If you aren't willing to defy it, at the very least you can keep yourself from repeating the official mantra with such enthusiasm.

It consists of demanding that Jews abandon their homes in Judea and Samaria so that the Palestinians can create yet one more Judenrein Arab state.

It consists of calling Israel “Palestine” when no such country has ever existed as an Arab nation or even as a sovereign nation. It consists of calling Israel the “Zionist Entity” in an attempt to erase 3000 years of history and replace it with a new conveniently invented Arab Palestine. It consists of routinely making false claims against Israel, such as claims of genocide, while encouraging a Palestinian culture where children are taught to hate the “Yehudis” (the Jews).

Anti-Zionism consists of rewriting history in order to justify hatred and demonization of the Jewish state. Its goal is to make Israeli Jews stateless and to allow Palestinian Arabs to do to Israeli Jews what Arabs have already done to Jews from Arab lands – murder them and force the rest to flee.

This is the anti-Zionism that we must denounce.

A former Israeli soldier who fatally shot a wounded Palestinian attacker who was lying on the ground says he “has no regrets” in his first interview since leaving prison three months ago.

Elor Azaria told the Hebrew-language daily Israel Hayom on Wednesday that if he could relive the March 2016 incident in the West Bank city of Hebron, “I would act exactly the same, because that's how I needed to act.”

Azaria served two-thirds of a 14-month reduced sentence after being convicted of manslaughter.

The combat medic was filmed shooting a wounded, incapacitated Palestinian attacker. Israel's military pushed for his prosecution, saying Azaria violated its ethics. Azaria says in the interview that the military “abandoned” him, echoing sentiments of many Israelis, particularly on the nationalist right, who defended his actions
