No Prime Minister !!!! Selling Pakodas is Not Employment

I admit I felt hurt by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent assertion that a person earning Rs 200 a day by selling pakodas is also employed. The fact that the prime minister actually celebrates this kind of ’employment’ as a major success of his Mudra scheme is even more worrisome.

This displays the poor mindset of writer. In a country of 1.25bn, do you expect everyone to have a job highly paid job? What is important is that everybody should get some work according to their skills. If an unemployed fellow puts a lari of some snacks and earn some money, it is very good. Even if he gets 10 to 15 thousand rupees or atleast 6000 Rs its very nice. His wife may earn same money and the family may live happily. They can make their children study in government schools. Even the mean earning my provide them a life of dignity and opportunity to grow further.

Whenever I sit in a Rikshwa or buty some fruit, i always talk to them about how much they do earn? Bu and large they earn enough to live happily. They complaints that they are not able to save much. They do not have much problem in living their day to day life.

"Naukri chodo, Vyapar karo" should be the slogan.

Modi exactly said this. He said that Indian youth will be a job giver and not job seeker by 2025.

The Mudra scheme – which clubs all previous loan schemes by banks, private bank and micro-finance institutions and classifies loans in three categories – has provided loans to over 10 crore beneficiaries in last three years. But nearly 90% of these beneficiaries have received loans under the ‘Shishu’ category, which provides for loans of under Rs 50,000. With such a low degree of investment provided to nearly nine crore Indians, the employment opportunities can hardly be of high value.

Nonsense.

For most of the purpose, 50k is more than enough. You can put a pakoda stall or tea stall. You can buy 2-3 sewing machines or start a beauty parlor or a small shop of grocery which most of the people wants to do. Every one do not want to put factory worth crores of Rupees.

I get the same answer too.. That they get enough to for their daily needs but they don't have much savings.
What I have noticed that we need savings for basically these major things - Education, Marriage, Home,Medical Savings and some savings for some luxury like vacations.
So the government provides them with free education via government school, free healthcare via government hospitals and there are many policies of government for affordable homes..So government has done what was needed to be done. They don't do some grand weddings too, so no problem there too...so self employment is far better than these freeloaders.

Selling pakodas Rs 300 a plate in an AC restaurant might be employment for some but not on roadside. Though middle class survive on these roadside stall which gives a monthly income to millions of vendors which itself is an ecosystem.

Pathetic elitist mindset on display.

A job is a job.

If this guy doesn't sell pakodas roadside, then who will ? Certainly not the smirky elites.
One may work his way up if he chooses to, but nevertheless at the moment this work is putting food on table.

.
A job is a job.

Today a prominent Congress leader, currently an MP, former Finance Minister of India commented that "if selling Pakora is a job so is begging"

So a person earning his livelihood by working hard is equated to begging job. And then they say why Congress got wiped of.

Fully agree. What this government has done for poor, other governments could not have even thought of. Loan to 10 crore people, Housing subsidy of over 1.5 lakh crore, Health card to so many people, Toilet in houses, 2 lakh insurance in Rs 12, opening 10 crore bank accounts, 3 crore gas connections in rural areas. This is bloody mind boggling. Now what they government need to do is to educated farmers in some simple yet very effective farming techniques and issue a skill development card to every youth who wants to get educated in some particular skill such as mobile repairing, carpentry, welding, electrification, diploma in farming etc.

.
If you dont want to make a honorable decent living selling pakodas, go beg on the streets. That is more honorable. I am refering to you @manlion

Even if shown that their hitler and goebbels are utter flops and Hindutva Ummah is a water spilled cracker never going to happen, the sevaks who sold their brains for the ideologies of Golwalkar, V D Savarkar etc still wants to believe in the new Kalki avatar who will cull all Mlechcha and will do the sansthapan of RSS Rajya. http://www.stopfundinghate.org/resources/rssprimer.htm
