Beijing: Chinese censors have struck again to check the rising trend in the news media to source what is seen as ‘negative news’ from the internet.
A new government order has banned the use of unverified information from internet sites and blogs in news pages and in electronic media.
Chinese media has of late been citing Twitter-like micro-blogging platforms and internet sites as the source of information. This is what the new order has come down on.
The general administration of press and publications has required reporters to produce at least two sources for any ‘critical’ news report and to personally conduct interviews when gathering information. GAPP said newspapers must publish corrections and apologies for circulating false reports as and when they do so. Serious violations could lead to the suspension or even revocation of a news outlet’s government-issued license, it said in a statement.
“False reports not only seriously hurt the interests of the parties involved, but also seriously undermine the credibility of the news media, or even seriously affect the social and economic order,” GAPP said in a question-andanswer article released by the state news agency Xinhua. It has barred reporters from directly using unverified information from cellphone messages in news articles.
Authorities said one in five of its investigations of “illegal news publishing” involved false reports since2010. The move comes after October’s meeting of Communist Party’s leadership, which focused on increasing China’s cultural reach, produced new calls for increased supervision of journalism and internet.

And than we wonder why chinese members lives in delusional world !

.
Are you Chinese?
Do you live in China?

All countries around the world are taking measures against so called negative propaganda done through the internet.

And India probably ranks as one of the top three as well:

India deports US journalist for reporting on Kashmir | Newspaper | DAWN.COM

Other government may be taking action to stop the inflow of propaganda but India boots out journalists for speaking the truth!

On topic : Chinese on this forum dont want to hear any negative news about them in this forum. You should see the way they get all worked up. How can their leaders be different

If by delusional world you mean a world where journalists need to cite sources besides online rant by someone named "xyz2549", then I would love to live there.

It is not that we don't want to hear the negative news, but we don't want to hear the false news all over the Internet!!!

The Western propaganda machine is trying its best to spin the meaning of the Chinese government, it was said that the unverified news are not allowed to spread over the Internet.

Why they always like to add words with their own definition?

How about their own Wall Street blackout? Hypocrisy at the best.

I'm still waiting for the first Western media report on the recent debt scandal involving Gary Locke and his in-laws.

these funny indians really do enjoy living in the china 'bubble' the western and their bollywood propadanda machine created for them``

one simple thing as I am in China now, and trying to verify the western media claims that China blocked google, twitter and facebook as i constantly getting while living in England year after year, but right now I am using google search engine and gmail with no problem, and one small software allows me to use facebook and twitter``

and more funny thing is that there are A LOT contents in Chinese internet are about 'trashing' Mao, 'leap forward', cultrul revolution, trafic polices, and whinning about some stupid government polices, even i was supprised (its a good thing). but surely those d1mw1t half grown indians will never know these as they know jack of Chinese language and only less than 1% people have real internet at home, and they are use to be told what to do and what to believe

we dont have problem is not we like 'controled' information, any people would against that include the chinese. the fact is that the internet is the No.1 tool nowadays in china to expose government scandles and official corruptions, chinese people trust local news and interent news way more than those mainstream news papers unlike those people in the west.

Chinese people dont have stereotype as far as i know is the perfect explaination of we dont like mainstream papers
