No money to Pak till they get rid of nukes: Trump

I think the highest receiver of DFID aid, the largest recipient of World Bank loans & the fifth largest recipient of ODA aid in the world shouldn't be talking about Pakistan.

India, largest recipient of World Bank loans - Rediff.com Business

A couple of points. No one is talking of cutting off money to India. While the proportion of such assistance to our total budget is very different from that of Pakistan, we are grateful for whatever aid that comes our way. Even if such aid is relatively marginal in comparison to our economy, the difference it makes in the lives of those helped by such aid is immense. I have never believed in mocking any such aid which helps us help more people.

Your point about WB loans are a completely different matter. As you keep reminding, you do live in the U.S. and you probably have a different idea of a loan. A loan is something that you have to pay back & the quantum that may be offered to you depends both on your creditworthiness as well as a demonstrated ability to pay it back. Something that those living in the U.S. couldn't get their head around the idea that you may actually have to pay back loans that you take which is why there was such a crisis. India, my dear chap gets the WB loans (for infrastructure projects incidentally) because there is a lot of confidence in the lenders that the money would be paid back. As recent comments of IMF officials have shown, this might be an alien idea to many Pakistanis who seem to operate with the view that they are displaying great munificence by allowing the numerous lenders to advance them any money which is why they are so shocked when some decline to partake in Pakistan's generosity.

They are always coming after Pakistan mostly due the possessed nuclear weapons by the Pak government.

You forgot to mention the aid Afghanistan gets vs Pakistan for fighting the same WOT (except that Pakistan fights by itself, without the help of US or NATO troops). Afghanistan gets $105 billion per year ($2 billion per week) from the US as a part of military aid, & $3 billion per year as a part of non-military aid. Pakistan gets $1.6 billion per year from the US as a part of military 'aid' (half of which is not aid, because Pakistan provides services to the US), & $1.6 billion per year as a part of non-military aid. On top of that, Pakistan has only received a fraction of the $3.2 billion aid proposed by the US. The US also hasn't paid the damages to Pakistan's road infrastructure worth billions of dollars the NATO trucks carry their supplies from to Afghanistan. Pakistan faces huge financial losses for fighting America's WOT.

This WOT has cost Pakistan a lot more, and these Zionists just won't leave Pakistan alone simply because it is the only Muslim nation who possesses the nuclear weapons.

This is really a weird argument. What next? You are going to complain that people are giving more money to Africa? Since when did recipients become choosy? In any case, is your argument that Pakistan receives less aid ( which would mean that the aid is needed & more of it would be welcome) or that it can do without the aid because it is unnecessary. Your attempted drawing of some sort of a parity with Afghanistan actually makes one wonder whether that is the kind of comparison that Pakistan has reduced itself to? Afghanistan was a failed state & was occupied by the U.S. Surely Pakistan does not wish it was in the place of Afghanistan, does it? One minute people here are arguing that Pakistan is almost a superpower & the next, comparing & whining about how Afghanistan gets more. Make up your mind.

It's also moot whether Pakistan is due monitory compensation because of services rendered or should be asked to pay back because fugitives (including Osama Bin Laden) get safe houses there. It could reasonably be argued that Pakistan, by allowing its territory (not making value judgments, sticking to facts) to be used by the likes of Taliban & assorted goons actually should be forced to pay compensation to those forced to fight this long & costly war because Pakistan continues to fail in its duty to secure its territory. If Pakistan is unable to control its territory then it should have no issues with being helped to fight a war it seems unable/unwilling to fight on its own. One cannot then be niggardly & argue about how Pakistan should also get paid for fighting its own war and then further argue that Pakistan needs to be paid more while it is being helped to clean up its own house.

You misunderstand me. The idea of presenting off those figures was not to compare Pakistan with Afghanistan, but to give you an good idea of the magnitude of the cost incurred in this WOT, & how it results in huge financial losses for Pakistan.

From the mouth of (intellectual) babes!

Trump's suggestion is an excellent idea. In fact, I would call it superb and the best thing that will ever happen to Pakistan.

Although Saudi Arabia and China may help out somewhat, it will finally hit the corrupt generals and politicians where it really hurts and force them to make long overdue reforms in Pakistan's economic management. The tax code will need to be revamped and better enforced -- no more tax holiday for the feudals and super rich. Also no more tax holiday for the average Pakistani (only 1% of Pakistanis pay taxes). When more people start paying taxes, they will demand more accountability from politicians and the military. And tax-paying citizens will demand real accountability as opposed to the current past-time of idle chatter in the media and small talk at parties.

It will be the best thing that happens to Pakistan.

Some sensible guy at last.

The USA will finally get to its senses and do the right thing, after funding and aiding its enemy for decades.

The same thing we can also say.................finally we seen the real face of our friend...........for whom our military was getting casualities, our peoples were dying in Drone Attacks and the country went into war situation......peoples met casualities in bomb blasts.....
You peoples can't swallow one mumbai attack and these kinds of attacks are daily happening in Pakistan.
All this is happening due to our dearest friend...........it was therer war and they brought us into this. and now they are loosing this war same like Russia........they need a strong reason to run from this and put blame on somebody for their failures....and Pakistan is easy target for them in this so called war on terror.

Developereo- Who will do that justice? Now is the time to leash president, pm, Kiyani, NS etc and execute them in the public to create an example for the future generations!

Depends on the size of a nation economy, so for a country of Pakistan to have a GDP of $175billion, aid from USA alone is $3.2billion and add all other western nation, lets say $4billion in total.

Relative to Pakistan GDP, the aid is 0.02%, for me that is a healthy amount.

The aid Pakistan recieves is more then 8 days of work of 160million Pakistanis every year.
