No Indian players for SLPL - BCCI

.
BCCI is becoming quite arrogant .

This year there was too much cricket .
I watched all Indian matches in WC .
2-3 matches of IPL .
Watched zero matches of India WI series .

It's becoming quite boring now .

I still dont get why BCCI is banning players from taking part
IPL is going to be top most and most paid league .
SLPL will hardly reach to the mark of IPL .
Then why is BCCi afraid ??? Only coz Lalit Modi is involved

Instead of trying to keep the boss attitude , BCCI should try to improve IPL

Thursday's meeting between the top brass of Sri Lanka Cricket and BCCI has been put off due to pressing engagements of SLC officials

SLC chairman DS de Silva and secretary Nishantha Ranatunga were scheduled to meet the BCCI officials on Thursday to sort out the issue at the earliest.

The meeting between SLC and BCCI officials won't take place as scheduled. We have an urgent meeting in the Parliament tomorrow, so they won't be able to travel to India tomorrow," sports minister Mahindanda Aluthgamage said.
SLC-BCCI meeting over SLPL issue called off

what do SLC chairman DS de Silva and secretary Nishantha Ranatunga have to do in Parliament ?

.
Sue him. What's that got to do with SLPL?
That's like saying... you left my b'day party early, so I won't come to yours. Grow up, will ya?
Nexus between PCB and SPL against BCCI? Huh? What kind of nexus?
The only reason BCCI is against SLPL is because Lalit Modi is involved in organising the tournament. Personal vendetta, that's all

it was the same SLC which sand players to pakistan inmid of security threats to play there but create a drama in resent IPL over players withdrawal...

seriosly, Bcci is acing too arrogant.. they are not able to digest the power.. SLPL is no threat to IPL

‘India’s financial clout is key to Sri Lanka cricket’

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Thursday delayed a meeting with Indian officials over the participation of India’s players in the island’s inaugural Twenty20 competition.

SLC chairman D. S. de Silva and secretary Nishantha Ranatunga failed to make a scheduled trip to India on Wednesday amid diplomatic moves to defuse the row which was sparked by India’s refusal to allow its players to join the event.

“It’s a very sensitive issue. Sri Lanka is keen not to upset relations with India. Both countries share warm relations and India’s financial clout is key to Sri Lanka cricket future,” an official source said asking to remain anonymous.

Fast bowlers Praveen Kumar and Munaf Patel were among 12 Indian players who had sought permission to play in the Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL) after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier cleared the event.

The BCCI’s U-turn came amid media reports that the SLPL was being organised by Singapore-based Somerset Entertainment Ventures, which allegedly has links with Lalit Modi, the sacked former boss of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Sri Lanka’s sports minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage was optimistic the issue would be resolved amicably and denied that the London-based Modi was involved with the tournament.

Modi faces criminal charges, including false accounting, and accusations by the BCCI that more than $106 million was misappropriated during his three-year tenure as IPL chairman.

Modi also distanced himself from the tournament through his Twitter feed on Monday.

Sri Lanka’s cricketing relations with India dipped in April after the new selection panel asked players to return during the IPL and prepare for the tour of England.

The Sri Lankan government later intervened and overruled the decision to avoid souring relations with India and the Indian cricket board.

The seven-team SLPL is set to be played from July 19-August 4 in Colombo.

20/20 is not cricket it will be what ends cricket

The joy of cricket is to battle for 50 overs, and it was all about the stats the ball vs run ration and run chase and heroics

The flash / crash style of 20/20 has no skills involved just swing the bat and hope the ball goes distance

I just don't find it entertaining as 50 overs game which offers more cricketing shots and a real battle between bowler and batsmen -

There should be 7 months of test cricket , 1 month rest 3 months of OD1 , and 15 day rest -
15 days of 20/20 - just one international tournament

How is it a 'nexus' against the BCCI? Organising an international tournament is their job!! Sure, their players refused because of security concerns, and the matter ended there.

And if asking the players to arrive for a tour a week before the first match is a conspiracy against the BCCI, then what about England who have organised tours during almost all IPL tournaments? Are they in on the nexus too?

there is a talk in the media that :
BCCI got the information on money involved ( nexus ) in SLPL during IPL itself , the lankan sports minister taking directions from pakistan then jumped into the ring and called the withdrawal of lankan players and try to negotiate on getting the indian players NOC onspot in the exchange of keeping lankan players in the IPL , but when BCCI gone tough and shown the written contrect and clearly said to SLC that in case of breaking written contrect the SLC will loose the IPL payment , SLC goes backfoot....
according to one of the news channal , the person who called the lankan sports minister was non other then PCB chairman izzaz butt..
