No IMF as Saudi comes to assist Pakistan

.
You misunderstand your own sources. US saved Qatar from Saudi invasion. Turkey joined the show as well. However, Turkey doesn't have the power to stop Saudi Arabia in Qatar, should the latter make its move.

Why Qatar ran out of favor with its GCC partners - is the question you should be asking.

Qatar should stay out from US - Turkey spat. Should American patience run thin, Qatar would be deep shit.

Playing games with big players doesn't end well for a small country. Just an observation.
Sorry to say, you're under-estimating Turkey!!! With 79 cents in the treasury Turkey went to rescue the Turkish folks in Cyprus and curve out a land for them from the Greeks - the grandparents of the Western Civilization!!! Could anybody stop them from stepping into Syria or Irak????? She knows how to play her cards, even the weak ones!!!! By the by, Sani family have been the at the helms since the Ottoman times!!! Turkey's stances will only get stronger with time....

**Even the drunkards came out from the bars, and threw themselves in front of the tanks when the Western powers wanted to take hold of turkey in 2016!!! Compare this to the Imam of Ka'ba who has basically declared that Trump is their God....

when we borrow money from saudis in return our citizens are treated badly .saudis have imposed 65000 rs additional charge on Pakistani pilgrims but for indian and others there is no such charge

My projections tend to be logical and correct on average. Not boasting; just saying.

Saudi Arabia can invade and occupy Qatar in a span of few days, if it wants to (refer to the case of Bahrain in 2011). However, US prevented Saudi invasion of Qatar in 2015.

Turkey have also dispatched its forces to Qatar in order to deter Saudi invasion but this contingent is only 3000 strong.

Turkey is also experiencing an economic crisis at present, and Qatar have offered 15 billion USD bailout package to Turkey recently. Trump administration might oppose this move since US - Turkish relations are not good.

Qatar ran of favor with its GCC partners in 2015. Should it also loose support of US, it will collapse. Read this: https://www.thenational.ae/world/me...-support-says-saudi-foreign-minister-1.724552

Saudi warning is loud and clear. Should US abandon Qatar to its fate, Saudi Arabia will execute "regime change" in Qatar. Saudi do not fear Turkey.
it cant invade qatar and wont...bharian is completey different thing...it was simply an effort to supress an iranian coup ..its going to be disaster for the region everyone knows that ..

There is differences between can and would...if you apply mathematics than alot of things can happen but wont happen as the consequences are too grave

There is news that imf has given briefing by asad umer's economic team about mini budget.
They are coming over next week after nod form u.s, to offer 7.5 billion package.
There is news about Saudis depositing 10 billion in our foreign reserves.
And also serious talks about bonds floating overseas.
I think asad umer would go for all the options. He would take imf loan.
He would take 10 billion as reserves from saudiarabia and he would also float bonds of another 5 billion.
He would have enough money in coming months.
But would he been able to pull of the economy....
And to finally dipose the loss making enterprises into the Malaysian khazana model is we desperately seeing.

Good post.
I think no one doubts the sincerity of the current administration. It's bad that they wasted so much effort on Show Bazi (selling PM House cars, austerity, the helicopter ride of the PM...) but overall the message has been very clear to the world that if they invest in Pakistan then their money will not be casually wasted. And so countries like China and KSA are willing to help. I think even in USA there's a lobby which is now more sympathetic toward Pakistan's interest--they know that 'Do More' won't work--it barely worked before anyway.

Saudis will probably ask for these 2 things in return-

1) Immediate deployment of Pak troops in Yemen
2)Stop recent bonhomie with Iran

Asking something and getting it are different matters. They asked for similar things and were given pretty public (and perhaps uncalled for) negative response from Pakistan's parliament. I don't think this govt will put Pakistan's interests stake for a mere (yes, mere) $10 billion.

mubarak ho :enjoy:

may all the big shots of Pakistan start sending their kids to Saudia in future

and make a law which strictly prohibits Pakistanis to settle or sending their kids in western countries as treason

You know Pakistan is on the right track when those who belong to the race and nation who call for the death and destruction of the Pakistani race and nation are all of a sudden concerned with our economic well being and internal matters........

This is atleast better than getting loan from IMF. However, still it saddens me that we have to take money from these terrorists. Saudia Arab is a terror to the world. There government has funded wahabism program for years. Spreading terrorism in poor muslim countries such as ours. Madarassas are under their funding and they recruit more and more terrorists. This is the sad truth. I hope one day i live to see the day when Pakistan doesn't relies on Saudia Arabia for anything. They have destroyed Islam throughout the world.
We should avoid such simplistic assertions about any country/nation or state. Saudis spread their religious ideology in response to ideological threats from others. Can any of you really buy the point that Saudis want to "spread terrorism" in other Muslim country? What would be the logic behind this except to make enemies?

I don't like getting involved in this blame KSA/Iran nonsense because each country does what is good for it and for its allies.

Between IMF and KSA, I would go with KSA each and every time. If KSA can give Pakistan some fiscal space, it would be a huge strategic boost and IMF can be told to go forth and multiple (although I do like the fiscal discipline that IMF and others push for).

The return for Saudi assistance is not a quid pro quo in Yemen as many are suggesting here. We have been down this road with the Saudis in the past. They realize that unlike their own overwhelmingly Sunni population, Pakistan has a very large Shia constituency and Pakistan cannot just do the Saudi bidding stepping over our Shia minority. In return for Saudi support, what Pakistan does for KSA is known to them.

The way forward means that we return the Saudi funding as and when possible and create a roadmap where we are no longer reliant on KSA, IMF or any international donors. This is entirely possible for Pakistan to manage on its own if we resolve that no matter what comes, Pakistan will not let up on taxation and its own revenue generation. After all a population of 200 million has to be good for something!

Let them just try!!! There'll be a regime range, but it'll be the stooges of Lawrence at Riyad!!! And, the Turkish soldiers will once again march into the Ka'ba without firing into a single shot and resistance like the armies of the Prophet (PBUH) and Yavuz Sultan Selim (RA)!!! And, they will cleanse the Ka'ba off the present day 300+ idols!! For a reason the Turkish soldiers are called Mehmetchik - the little Muhammads!!!
