Girls and boys are born in statistically equal numbers but Gangadeshis do abortion if the fetus is a girl because women are considered paoon ki jooti in their culture.

Female foeticide is also happening in Pakistan but not to the extent of India,these days every village and town has doctors and non qualified ppl using ultrasounds to determine the sex of fetuses which gives the parents a chance to abort the fetus if it's a female. Quite unethical but still happening everywhere
