Not just that, but in the aftermath of Mumbai Attacks, the indian realtors formed a united front to stop dealing (Resting/Selling/buying) with Muslims.

Actually this issue is complex. There are 140 million Muslims in India and they are not living without flats. This lady Shabana has about 4 flats in Mumbai and also holiday home in Khandala Hills.
But it is true that there is tendency for Hindus and Muslims to stay in their own areas. It has been like that for centuries.
There are many reasons for this - Muslims may prefer to be surrounded by other Muslims and Hindus may also prefer to be with Hindus. Many Hindus tend to be vegetarians and prefer to live near other vegetarians - they don't like to see goats slaughtered on Eid etc. All that is OK - people are allowed to have their own preferences.
There are many Muslims that are much admired by all Indians including Hindus - examples are President APJ Abdul Kalam, the great Musician Bismillah Khan, Azim Premji of Wipro.
Judging from how most Pakistanis on this board are supporting the cover-up of the Mumbai terrorist attacks, it must be that many Pakistanis admire fanatics like Hafiz Saeed, Maulana Masood Azhar. Pakistan does not provide any positive example for Indian Muslims.
Overall, Muslims who are willing to work hard have better opportunities in India.
