i think Pakistan made the request more just to show the double standards of the west

nope. pakistan badly wants the uranium. they asked from US first - then China and then Australia. nothing to do with double standards.

. .
Do pakistan have enough money to buy the Uranium ??
Also they have got sufficient amount to fulfill their needs for some decades to come..

Yanks will surely help them after all they are allies :smokin:

.
why you are asking for uranium from Australia if you already have it in reserve?

We like to be ridiculed diplomatically , its "parampara".

There is NO need for Uranium from any place.. for our weapons anyway.
There is enough stockpiled to replicate our current stock of nuclear weapons TWICE!

What we do want uranium from abroad is for our civilian program and that too to look nice to the world and tell them..
"Look, we comply with all safeguards and conditions as set by the western..cough..cough.. world requirements.

.
Why does the US seek middle eastern oil when it has its own reserves ?

Because those reserves are inadequate to cover both present and projected requrements of US oil consumption.
Its the same story with Pakistani uranium reserves! Inadequate Quantities.
Maybe you need to explain that to your compatriots who want to believe that Pakistan neither needs the Uranium nor has asked for it from Australia.

.
I think the whole issue of Aussie Uranium was the brilliant brain misfire of some bloke at the foreign office of GoP..
"this is how we shall show our support to the nuclear program of Pakistan..ask for stuff we dont need and cant get..look desperate"

It was worth a shot.If the Pakistani diplomats were successful in negotiating exports from Australia,it would have been a deal equivalent to the Indo-US pact with a major nuclear player imposing faith in Pakistan. The same could've been used as leverage to broker contracts elsewhere.

In the eventuality that Pakistan's request did get shot down,it had the probability of taking India request down with it.
