No Airbase in Kashmir!

making an air base in Azad Kashmir doesn't make much sense. the belly of Azad Kashmir is very narrow and the jets will have very little time to respond. secondly most of the air bases may fall even in the artillery range of the enemy. thirdly in a full scale war there are chances that we may have to retreat at some places in kashmir .fourthly kashmir is well covered through paf bases at skardu, peshawar, kamra, chaklala., risalpur.

.
We aren't having any Fighter Squadron in Rawalpindi Airbase. it's No. 35 (Composite Air Transport) Wing. No Multi-role/Attack Wing.
In war time squardons are moved around and not kept in same deployment as in peace time

lolx at which Question did you just reply this. where would you deploy them? while we aren't having any full functional Airbase in Azad Kashmir?

IAF intrusions from J&K are countered by aircrafts from AB's in Peshawar.

AJK can be run over by enemy in war. It can be targeted by MLRS and other artillery also. Its more of a liability than an asset since air refuellers joined PAF.

Hi,

The spool up time of the JF17 engine is so short that it will be over kashmir over opponents territory flying from kamra before the opponents twin engine aircraft can take off from a base on the other side---.

So---there is a reason for no air base in kashmir.

It can also operate from Skardu and PAF has already been testing JFT there. AAR can help solve the takeoff weight issues.

Why Pakistan Haven't Develop any Airbase in "Azad Kashmir" while india is having 5 Airbases in "IOK".

1: Awantipora AFB
2: Leh AFB
3: Siachen Glacier AFB
4: Srinagar AFB
5: Udhampur AFB

in case of war "INDIA" could easily attack Azad Kashmir from these Airbase's and can give Air cover to their land forces like they did in Kargil War. Pakistan lack this edge in Kargil we weren't able to give cover to our land forces or to counter IAF aircrafts. wouldn't it be difficult for us to protect Azad Kashmir?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Indian_Air_Force_stations

It is a disputed territory, and as per the UN guidelines, Pakistan has not annexed Kashmir as part of Pakistan. The province remains independent with its own legislative body. While most of the LOC remains highly militarized due to Indian deployments, a permanent cantonment or airbase has not be put in due to the UN resolutions. India, on the other hand, has a different perspective.

I don't know if you'd be willing to answer this, but was the idea of an Azad Kashmir Army or Azad Kashmir Defence Corps ever floated about in our circles? In other words, an independent armed force with deep-rooted linkages to the Pakistan armed forces (e.g. deputation officers, funding, equipment support, etc)?

Looks like India has forgotten what happened with Pathankot Airbase back in 65' but we are not going to make any such mistakes. But we do have bases in Kalabagh and Murree. Though, they are not operational.

Where are the strips in Kalabagh and Muree?

Why would you create a full functional base so close to the loc ,
it's just plain stupid
The reason is if you deploy a squadron there enemy will disable that air base at first chance they get and everyone will be a sitting duck

As it gives no benefit only just increasing risk of loosing good assets in war time
Kashmir and Islamabad and Punjab areas arnt that far from each other
While India does need that because of the distance

The point is in case of war we wouldn't be able to scramble our Aircraft's in time until IAF would take Ground targets in AJK and return back to their bases in IOK.

In case of war, the whole scenario is changed, alerts and FOB's are in place at intel reports of an impending war.
Stop being so confused mate.
First you talk about strike at peace time, now you talk about war scenario. Make up your mind.
