Coz it uses a turbofan engine sir.Why there is no fire or smoke when the missile is in air?
abe serious question hu yaar..Because this is first non-violent missile from land of Gandhi.
On Topic.
Any ideas about it' RCS , because the minute it is detected it will be put down in same.
Should be around 0.5 m2............ similar to Tomahawk. Hopefully it should fly low and avoid radar and when it is detected will not provide sufficient response time.
At .8 mach it will take just one SAM missile to put it down.
UN must recommend every nation who signed for Yoga Class must watch this video twice a day
Even at mach 2 it will take just one SAM to put it down. New gen SAM travel at Mac 4. Response time is key.
Yes actually what I meant that it lacks maneuvering too , that means even near obsolete SAM missile can take it down .
It's only defence is avoiding enemy radar by silently flying at tree top level or by saturating enemy radar by being fired in salvo mode.
It was just awsome ! Nirbhay Team will be very proud of it ....

Well you cant do much about it in subsonic cruise missile's case. One thing you can do is launch multiple missiles for specific target to maximise hit rate. Thats where missiles like supersonic Brahmos can be handy minus range disadvantage. At .8 mach it will take just one SAM missile to put it down.
I guess we must develop a engine which can fly it at sustained speed of over 1.5 mach even at the cost of sacrificing bit of range. That is how cruise missile operate.

We already are working on a 3.2 mach, 600+ km range indigenous cruise missile. Also Brahmos-1 and Brahmos-2 are there too. But these supersonic cruise missiles costs alot. Whole point of Nirbhay is to make a low cost cruise missile with good range. also not every target has SAMs like bridges, specific buildings etc.I guess we must develop a engine which can fly it at sustained speed of over 1.5 mach even at the cost of sacrificing bit of range.
so after initial thrust boosters,, which type of engine is used which make it fly this long even without any trail
After the initial rocket booster phase the missile's own turbofan engine takes over and powers the missile to its target and thus the missile has a very low IR signature. Why there is no fire or smoke when the missile is in air?
