I see what your saying and I agree. But It is also important for Chinese to go abroad and get an experience of foreign countries to learn and to bring back their new found wisdom.
Zhou Enlai went to Europe to study, Deng labored in France for years and I think Jiang Zemin stayed in Russia for a time. Xi didnt stay overseas but his Iowa trip did have a profound impact on him when he of a lowly official.
Well you cant compare China from 1949 to the early 90s, China back then was a ultra poor, backward country, just a bigger version of North Korea(in fact North Korea had a better livin conditions/gdp per capital) . So obviously it is understandablr mkst of chinas leaders/officials opted to go study/learn from the more advanced Europe/U.S or even Russia. Even thoigh despite living and studying in yhe west, they still claimed they wete anti western. Lool
However everybody will expect that todays China would have been different, as its a growing power, with quite fair/decent universities, and a largr middle class with improving livibg standards with each passing year. So one will expect that such an 'upcoming power' will be confident ebough for jts highest leader to send its only child to study in its own universities at the very least.
Moreover, if there was nothing really wring/ackward about your great 'patriotic' leader sending his omly child to study in the 'imperialistic/evil', then why are they trying so hard to hide/cover this news from people?lol. If you know you have done nothing wromh, then why try hide it or put it in as low profile as you can? Lol. They themself must know it isnt exactly an examplary nehaviour i believe. Less the ultra nationalisic youths back home like @Hypersonicmissiles ,@PLANZubr et al start questioning their patriotism. Lol
Le Keqiang won't have a second term. There is absolutely nothing wrong with learning from the west. Even now, according to Henry Paulson in his book 'Dealing with China', the leadership still watches various foreign economic and political models to learn how to apply the best aspects into Chinese society.
Chinese leaders are generally inconspicuous and their private family lives are always hidden. Add to it the fact that Xis daughter could have been studying in Harvard before her father was chosen to be the next party chairman. Le Keqiang was also a strong candidate backed by Hu Jintao and Jiang Zemin. Back in the late 2000s I was in favour of Li Keqiang but Xis performance has proven me a dumbass.
As Deng put it:
"Cross the river by feeling the stones".
Learn from the west for what to do and what not to do. Then China can cross the river more safely and efficiently.

True, but im not sure your brothers like @PLANZubr will be happy to hear you say that great super China doesnt mind learning from the barbarian West/U.S .
When it comes to politics, demonstrators in Ukraine or the Middle East call for western democracy but nobody marches to demand a Chinese political system.
It is also for this reason why I don't yet believe that Brienne has actually killed Stannis. XD
And in hindsight, you didn't even need to betray Robb Stark if he wasn't such a naïve fool who instead of following his father's orders, decided to declare himself King in the North with the anticipation of a ''glorious'' conquest towards the South. And to come to think of it, he ignored a lot of your good advice as well! So yeah, the Red Wedding was kind of deserved.
You know... Robb tried to cheat himself out of his promise to marry Roslin Frey, because he already had his foreign honeypot, and also because he anticipated that she would be ugly like the other Frey sisters, only to find out that Roslin was ten times prettier than his own Braavosi darling.
Reason why I choose Stannis over Roose Bolton after the Red Wedding, was because you have (somewhat of) a non-aggression pact with the Lannisters at this moment.
Jaime is a perverted dcikhead but he isnt a bad guy, just kinda impressionable. When he hangs around his sister he becomes a bastard but when he hangs around Briene of Tarth he follows her lead and becomes a good guy.
With that having said, Ramsey Bolton is one crazy sadistic son of a b#%@. I wish the worst upon him!
