it's not my opinion mate,it's the reality.Indian ocean means India's ocean and the Indian Navy literally rules here.every country knows that and acknowledges it....I didn't ask your opinion, i was referring to Indian naval chief's statement.
Which presents a picture, quite opposite to your claim!

You want to believe in UFO's or do you want to think logically? If you want to think, think on what Pakistan stood to lose in Kargil if we had refused to retreat? Just think about it with an open, cool mind and come back to me.
Same old Indian habit attach everything with Pakistan which they can't control.....now even smugglers...Your forces really need to do some work instead of sitting like duck and just talking and putting the blame on Pakistan.
No doubt it would have taken more time but it would have been ultimately vacated as yout supply route was alread cut but you would have lost your 5000 men instead of 1500.
Now tell me why India occupies your two posts ?? If you consider sole post as victory in lieu of loss of your two posts then it's ok for me.
Or were forced to retreat.
You would have risked full blown war and that would have resulted in Pakistan loosing whole JK.Your genral knew his limitations and boundries and acted accordingly.
Most people in Pakistan as well as in USA have now accepted the fact that Nawaz Sharif was sent to USA by Musharraf to salvage whatever was left of the operation. With the fact that it was a PA op outed by Musharraf's intercepted conversation, the world opinion was bang against Pakistan for initiating hostilities. Musharraf knew that it was a Lose-Lose for him. Either India would (at a heavy cost) dislodge the Pakistani soldiers from the Kargil heights or failing that would cross LoC / activate International border as a counter attack to what the international body had now accepted as an attack by Pakistan. In both cases, Pakistan and PA stood to lose since the core objective was a land grab and then bank on International community to persuade India into a cease-fire..
One thing most Pakistani members here fail to understand is that military is but a tool and is only as strong/weak as the political will of the nation wielding that tool. Had it not been the case, USA would have never been defeated in Vietnam.. In this case also, Pakistan as a nation had no appetite for the deluded general's misadventure and India had no reservation in taking it all the way.. And the inevitable happened.. Comparing capabilities and individual braveries of soldiers is a futile exercise. In the end, what matters is the will behind the action and the extent a country/govt is willing to go to enforce that will..
And about the post, yaaawnn....!!!
1. Pakistani soldiers who were now trapped without any air support and were being bomber by Bofors and Mirages
2. USA as a trusting friend (that you did anyway)
3. International support on Kashmir (that you did anyway)
@Mav3rick do you live in fourth dimension ??
You don't know about many things like
1. You lost only 300 men by whose account. More than 500 were buried by IA itself which PA refused to accept.
2. You don't know about Pakistan lost 2 peaks.
3.There were many regular of PA who were later posthousmouly awarded.
4. Initially you were supplied with replinishment which were later cut by India.
You are welcome to try second Kargil-2 if 5000 life doesn't mean anything. I hope you too would be among those next 5000 men.
As if anyone in the world would have believed a single word of what was called an intercepted conversation by Musharraf, sitting in China, talking with one of his core commanders!! India, at a heavy cost, would eventually have had dislodged Pakistani Men but would never have dared to cross the international border, especially not so since your bluff had been blunted a year earlier on 28th May!! Furthermore, a war with Pakistan would have pushed India back 20 years, it was and still is something that India does not want. Pakistan was almost a bankrupt, failed state anyway with not much to lose. And well, the plan was never really to persuade India to a cease fire, it was always to bring India to the negotiating table to find a solution to Kashmir dispute once and for all, albeit with some leverage aka Kargil.
You have absolutely no idea what the mood in Pakistan was, if mood of the Pakistanis could have determined the outcome of Kargil.....Pakistan would have gone all out!! Not just that, PakMil was well prepared for any Indian aggression across the border. Biggest proof of the mood of Pakistanis is the overwhelming support Musharraf got when he ousted NS and had him imprisoned!
1. The lives of those 5000 brave men was already compromised, their lives were compromised the moment they volunteered for that mission, knowing fully well that they would be with support or supplied, that they would have to brave it all out to their deaths!
2. USA was crushing us under a) pressler amendments & b) Nuclear test sanctions.....what friend dude???
3. International support was lost because of our internal Military/Democrzy disagreement. While Indian leaders and military were all on the same page, Pakistan's PM was more concerned with American dictations to save his position!
Had no real response, right? It's understandable.
1. We lost less then 300 men by our accounted official records. You were running short of coffins and transport for your dead soldiers. Furthermore, the dramas that your Army documented for awards and prizes is well knows and on record!
2. Pakistan never lost anything! We actually gained one of the most strategic peaks!!
3. Unlike the posthumous awards handed out by IA to those who were still alive??? P.S. awards are usually given post[/QUOTE3.
