i personally think at this time Pakistan needs senior Generals to rule the country.

If they take off their uniform, stand in an election and win, sure. Other than that, no sir. Generals should stick with their day jobs, national defence. The only time they should be allowed to take control of civil matters is when the federal or provincial government calls them in for security reasons (as in FATA or Karachi).

That's funny. What's his election platform, apart from Ghazatul-Hind? Zilch.

But hey, he's a citizen of Pakistan. If he wants to run in a general election and gain a majority vote, then I'm all for it.

Ahmed Shuja Pasha is quite down the list and since all the superseded generals usually leave so its unlikely that Pasha will be made Chief ... and most of all Pasha still havent commanded a corps which is pre requisite for chief ... My bet is on Khalid Shamim Wyne and Muhamamd Yousuf who are very capable soldiers .. Nadeem Taj also stands an outside chance if the above two are rejected !

Musharraf and Aslam Beg are from Sindh. There is no Sindhi General senior enough to be a candidate this time around.

Musharraf and Aslam Beg are from Sindh. There is no Sindhi General senior enough to be a candidate this time around. There is an informal rotation program and a Pushtun COAS is possible this time around.
