News: Nigeria Orders 7 more JF17s

. . .
Well done to China/Pakistan for this order.

Looks like the JF-17 may have found its niche in the 3rd world where countries just need small amounts of a light fighter such as JF-17.

.
The funny thing is that before the delivery of JF-17s, on various Nigerian forums these Nigerians were saying how come the Mighty Nigerian Armed forces who are SO POWERFUL in the World, need JF-17s from a rag tag Pakistan Military, and now here they are squealing like little girls.

The SOWs will likely be a choice of CM-400AKG, C-802, IREK, and LGBs paired to ASELPOD.

That is basically the sum of the SOW integration work the PAF did onto the JF-17 to-date.

There are a lot of optional weapons that may work (e.g., YJ-9E, LD-10, GB6, etc), but I don't know if they've been tested and qualified on the JF-17 yet. Still, the current package is pretty good. You get a varied anti-ship capability (i,e., a cruising missile in the C-802 and a quasi-ALBM in the CM-400AKG), IREK can work with MK82 and MK83 at least (potentially MK84 for heavy-hitting), and the ASELPOD and LGB pairing is standard-fare.

That said, an Azeri JF-17 order could open the door to SOM ALCM integration.

No MAR-1?

It does imply that Block II's can use dual-racks for AAM's if this is true.

All hp, all 7 of them are tied to mil1760 store bus and can carry weapons or other stores ans with dual racks multiple weapons

It’s just preference and adoption
With Blcok three it will be confirmed as far as wing strengthening wings get recycled anyway after xxx hours so may be after it’s recycle newer wings will conform to newer strengthen structure

Mirage wing life 1250 hour let say Jf is also 1250 hours after which older wing sent for repair / tear down inspection and newer wing of installed

It seems like 5 will be JF-17 single seat and 2 would be Duel seat. NAF was the one who initially wanted PAF to develop the duel seat trainer.
Nigeria pays complete amount in advance hence they waited 3 years to give this order after the initial order of 3 aircraft. PAF might be asked to provide NAF with expedited aircraft deliveries.

Hi,

They did not know what their military had ordered. Only if they could understand and get into the minds of their military for this procurement---they would be surprised.

The more it is proven the more countries that will fly it. This is just the beginning. Nigeria would have ordered more but the manufacturing capacity isn't there without undermining Pakistan Airforce's needs. This is the best value plane in the world and it is proven in combat.
