New York girl's life experience : Shanghai VS. New York City

Old cities can be remodelled like Beijing, Guangzhou, Hongzhou, Nanjing, Chongqing....But US doesn't care about upgrading their infrastructures.

New York infrastructure and skyscrapers date back to the late 1800’s to early 1900’s.Besides the whole rationale for mega cities is now being questioned thanks to COVID. The US can easily modernize NYC, it’s not the question of funds nor capability - after all, many of your prestigious structures is designed/ built by American firms.
Then do it, not just talk, you can start with your filthy subways.

We built our buildings when your ancestors still lived in trees, that's not point bragging the past, we are talking about now and future. There are some buildings designed by foreigners but it's more like employees and we are the boss, why you can't put up their buildings they designed in your own country?
As I mentioned, upgrading your public facilities first, they need it desperately, skyscrapers can wait.

What kind of White Girl she is?
@dbc @beijingwalker
Average person who cares about cost of living and public modern conevience.

I heard that ground water in Beijing is undrinkable so people need to buy water for drinking, is it true ?

This is from one of their favorite women video posters
If you keep a refrigerator full of pro-biotics you'll be ok...:unsure:

I have been to both places.
The lady in the video clearly seeks benefit from Chinese audiences and thus says what they want to hear most.
New York cannot be compared with any city in the world, because of its own unique significance, cultural symbol, international melting pot, etc. We cannot compare Shanghai with Manhattan, because Shanghai was recently built while New York infrastructure is much older. For me, most Chinese cities feel like they lack a soul or personality. The tier 2 and tier 3 cities feel completely like a copy paste job in a computer simulated world.

I drink tap water in China but bottled water in US, cause in New York, tap water has so much particles floating in water and makes it almost not transparent, it freaked me out.
Maybe you should have visited your eye doctor before you left China.

Americans want to live in the suburbs, in $1M homes, big green lawns, and white picket fences. Almost no one wants to live in the city. An there is no comparison between NYC and Shanghai. NYC is a cultural icon worldwide.

Also a world icon for homeless people and beggars, did you watch the OP video, the New York girl says one of the main difference between Shanghai and New York is you don't see beggars and homeless people in Shanghai.

the paradigm has shifted your prestigious Shanghai tower is largely unoccupied preCOVID, good luck recouping your investments post COVID. Like I said, I see the demise of large cities as a positive. No more nightmare commutes, no more living in polluted congested cities. Many large firms are in the process of giving up their offices in high rise buildings - this is happening now and I like it.
