What's new

‘New wine shops, conspiracy to destroy youth’

an example is whether u even take the medicine in moderation or excess, it has side effects, the one taken in moderation has side effects but not much apparent..

also drinking is hazardous for a decent social environment, people who drink lose their senses, they are liable to commit crimes.. which they dont in their senses.

we people do commit crime in a very high rates and intesity even if we dont drink. so dont blame drinking, blame attitude of people, their system, rulers, their honesty etc.

what is the big deal is issuing alcohal licenses ? why cant the decision be left on the people in Pakistan if some one chooses to drink he/she can ...... those who dont want to its good for them after all there are millions of muslims living in western countries where booze is open ..... , ok lets forget western countries booze is sold inside out in the middleeast exception is saudi's but they drive to bahrain they are full time muslim countries!??

Why TF simple things like an alcohal license become such a big deal in Pakistan ?? those who think muslim pakistanis dont drink , please STOP you have no idea the quantity of alcohal consumed and they way they obtain , both the quality and price have effecting factor. Quality risks health and prices are making the boot leggers rich , Its a better idea and i will say well done , atleast there will be some sort of revenue going in govt pockets as getting loans with interests is catagorised as haram as alcohal or any thing , i dont hear jamati idiots making any noise about it!?

you can argue the moderation with regards to drink, but when it comes to smoking, there is no moderation or excess. smoking damages health no matter how much you smoke. full stop and end of it.

Point taken.

Sigh !

We live in an age where all good things in life are either illegal, harmful to health, bad for the environment or likely to cause AIDS !

as it is rightly said, putting into a well which never gets filled up, thats the govt of pakistan, it goes there and nothing comes out of it.the revenue which will be generated in this haram act will go in to decorate the presidential palace or in other but not for the benefit of nation, than why go into such hypocricy in the first place.

right now iam having my bottle of beer while i go through your post .is beer also good for health like wine? as my CSD liquor store do not provide wine its a luxury for people like me

its simple allow it and let people decide , you stop them it makes them them drink even more , who cashes up the bad guy "boot legger " i dont mind if the money goes to presidential palace as its GOP property.

Let me clearify one thing i am not glorifying alcohal (100 times astaghfirullah ) i am just saying If not allowed it makes the system even more corrupt as from the port where it arives , customs want their cut + no checks on quality as there are standards health hazard (i am sure you have heard in new people 20-30 people die when they drink poisiones alcohal) , than you need a gang to operate who offcourse uses ilegal weapons etc to guard protect , than comes the consumer who pays on the risk if he/she is caught than they need to bribe a cop or cops .... try and figuring out numbers ( 10-15) people least ..... so in my view a single bottle if allowed by the law than much of the above is gone and the choice is consumers if we want we can but if we are good muslims than we wont... khalas yara isnt !!? There is big time demand in Pakistan please accept it as a reality other wise no govt will risk their necks allowing alcohal permits

Thread concluded :victory:

Should I state the medical benefits from moderate use of alcohol then?

No sir, I am also aware of the beneficial pharmacological actions of alcohol that a light to moderate drinker (1-3 units/day) can be benefited by drinking; cos moderate consumption can increase the HDL (high density lipoprotein) which can reduce the coronary heart disease.

I was just talking to Azad_Pakistan_2008 who was thinking if caffeine can be addictive but legal then why not alcohol. But the extend of pros and cons of both caffeine and alcohol are not same.

There is no point in raising concern over it. If someone wants to drink alcohol he will do it at any cost. No amount of religious training can stop him. If anything that can stop him is his own personal resolve.

There is a missing point:

No one can not stop someone if he wants to drink, right. But there is tendency to get influenced by peer pressure if alcohol is so available. A non-drinker can start drinking when he will see that his friends are drinking and then it become trend and norm in the friend circle. And it's exactly happening here. Non-drinker friend is starting drinking by seeing others.

My opinion is, alcohol should be legalized with imposing high tax. If someone can not buy and drink it whenever he likes. We used to drink in past frequently when it was cheap, but now we drink rarely as the cost is double now and we lost our interest.
