Pardon my ignorance, but why 'intensive' Arabic courses? Pakistan isn't part of Arabia, nor are Pakistanis considered Arabians. So why is Pakistan encouraging this? Why and how do you identify yourselves with the Arabs?

Arabic is the language of Qur'an and the language chosen by Allah to reveal the Qur'an to our Prophet Muammad , may allah sends peace and blessings to him. So one has a choice , to read second hand translations of Qur'an or to learn Arabic and have a direct connection with Qur'an.

plus there is a book by Sadaf Ahmad, Transforming Faith: The Story of Al-Huda and Islamic Revivalism Among Urban Pakistani Women. Its a good read for anyone interested

My friend , on the other hand there is a waive of liberalism in Paksitan and world over as well. Sexual promiscuity has touched new heights , moral values are being trampled , every one hour in USA 20 women get raped. Drug use and alcohal abuse is rampant. Nobody gets worked up by this ? And this is done in an organized way by the media. I dare you to watch a PG movie produced by Walt Disney and nowdays even it has clear sexual messages and you are complaining about women who want to steer clear of this mess ? Has'nt media brain washed our entire nation ? Arent you worried about the dark , vulgar and perverted TV shows ?

Moral values are too simple, you don;t have to be a conservative Muslim to improvise on Moral values.
1) Be good, Do Good
2) See NO BAD, Hear NO BAD, Speak NO BAD.
3) Do not hurt others for your personal gain be it material or personal ammusment.

I think the above is enough to develop moral values.

Media is that one that is creating cultural disaster, had any of the world leaders thought that its not good to show bad things in TV, then the cultural disaster as it happens today would have been averted, but alas instead of blaming the media and the corporations that promote all the cultural ills we blame it on liberalism

why do you speak english? why did you learn it as it has nothing to do with your culture?

People learn arabic to be able to understand the quran better. People learn english because it is an international language and is useful in business. In other words people learn different languages for their own benefit whether spiritual or other.
