New Thunder with 9 Hardpoints

.
That's a different scenario. But on the existing frame it will not be applocappl. Right ?
SD-10A weight is 180Kgs. 180x2 = 360Kgs, PAF uses the improved SD-10B variant. Additional missiles should not be an issue, despite the model being shown is also carrying a pair of C-802A cruise missiles.

Taking only wikipedia specs
  • Hardpoints: 7 in total (4 × under-wing, 2 × wing-tip, 1 × under-fuselage) with a capacity of 9,535 lb (4,325 kg) for external fuel and ordnance

Now configuration in picture.
4 x 180kg SD-10s= 720
2 x 83kg PL-5Es= 166
2 x 715kg C-802As = 1430
Center line Fuel tank 800L (1.266 litres jet A1 fuel is 1kg)= ~635Kg (wing tanks are 1100L)

That is a total 2951KG load and for the Indian friends who are very skeptical adding a 25% "mei na manu" factor which 3689kg still is well within the 4325 capacity.

However I believe the C-802As choice is just for marketing purpose, in actual air superiority role instead of C-802As, 2x 800L tanks and a EW pod on belly pylon makes a more practical choice.

So it means paf by end of 2019 will going to have 50 blk1 plus 50 blk2 plus 12 blk2 plus 14 blk2 yo a total of 126 of that 2 attrition losses to bring the total number in service expected by end of 2019 will be 124 examples. Of that forming 6 full squadrons (18 plans each squadrons ) and 1 CCS or 7 squadrons (16 planes each squadron) and 1 ccs

Increasing hard points won't change max load carrying capacity..Right ? So what's the point of increasing it ?
IMO 1 × 200kg bomb is better than 2×100 kg bombs .. @volatile @MastanKhan
nope you are wrong increasing hardpoints mean more lethal weapons

SD-10 rather then 2 or 4 lets say 10 :D
rather then 2 CM-400AKG lets say 6

there are many weapons which have lower weight but we have no hard point to load them

that depends on configuration ! right ? for A2G role what will u do with 10 SD-10 !! ;)

it can carry 2 more air-to air missiles, to intercept IAF, imagine 2 extra SU-30s going down, and you will understand the point
kya bat hai bhai ! by the way SU 30 has 12 Hard Points ! ;)

then 12 takbeer JDAM weapon :lol:250 kg each and 500 litters fuel tank too

That means 126 JF17s + 78 F16s BVR fighters backed with AEW&C and C4 support. A much harder problem for IAF to deal with than the last time things kicked off. Good progress for sure!!

Need to strengthen outer wing and add new pylon for a2a sd-10 leaving rest of 6 pylons for a2g weapons, sea or drops like f-16 then you have full swing role capability ie a2a and a2g or sea in same mission

Anyway time will tell

Max load isn't always the bottleneck. For example, in A2A configurations it is almost always the number of hard points which is the bottleneck. Hence the introduction of dedicated hard points for pods on many different aircraft. Also the reason behind the dual-racks.
