What's new

New T-99 of Chinese PLA````Caught on camara!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Might be perception but the front of the turret looks alot more flatter, is it to fix that apparent shot trap issue?

Actually, is it possible for missile to contain paint explosive? Consider that moder tanks will have self protection systems, it makes sense for an incomming missile to be destroyed (usually at reasonably close range) but then blinds the tank's targeting sensors in the process.

People, this is the Type 99A2, the newest variant that is in service. You can tell from the block armor and redesigned arrow armor as well as upgraded chassis.

The Type 99KM is still in trials.

Care to elaborate? Every western forum criticizes this tank for it's concave turret.

Yet the best western tank also has a concave turret.

I think because the actual turret is behind it. The concave part is actually armour tiles separated from the main turret with a gap in the middle.

and i think since it's already an extension, they have to be a bit concave otherwise the tank front hatch may be blocked.

The fact that designer of Type 99 may just used an existing vehicle chassis rather than design a new one, may have added further to the constraint.
