For the same reason the Queen of England doesn't exercise her constitutional powers.

Actually, Technically all the decisions are taken by President, but she can not take independent decisions. She can perform only those actions which Prime Minister ask her to do so. Therefore, all those things will be done in India which Prime minister wants.

That is a technical issue. While all actions may emanate in the name of the President, the President functions on the advice of the Cabinet of Ministers; the head of wich is the Prime Minister. The only time that the President can assume direct powers is in case of an "Emergency". But that is easier said than done.

That is part of the Constitutional checks and balances wisely set up by the drafters of the Indian Constitution before 1950. So Indians have not had too many opportunities to suffer individuals who have arrogated all powers unto themselves.

Na she aint , with all the latest allegations upon her by the media she recently told that she is not happy . Hence logic still stands good
