I have noticed that acceptable behavior for a Muslim in India is much wider than in Pakistan.

I don't think USA is a good example compared to many Muslim countries, Muslims here are the most liberal and pro lgbt demographic. Quite sad.

No, he is not extreme, that is actually the wrong word. He is a tough patriot, and even that has a place and time for it. Sometimes Indians, Muslims and Hindus, need to be explosed to tough Pakistani views as well.

We Pakistanis generally are too lenient against these characters.

I respect our Pakistani brother for his views, and he is also correct in a way too. Maybe I wouldn't go so far in making takfir on Indian Muslims who opposed Pakistan, but definitely there is a shortage of mindset or understanding of these people.

For what its worth, I am still a fan of Zakir Naik, he has done great service for Islam, however I would not want someone like that leading my country.

Same in Australia too. Most Muslims are only in name.

Among the youth there is some higher religiosity. But it is not much either. The middle generation is almost entirely secularised. The mosques mostly have older folk and a few celebrated white reverts.

Things have improved though.

Today more Muslims identify themselves as Muslim. From the stories I hear, the previous Muslim immigrant generation tried (and partly succeeded in) assimilation.

He should come to Pakistan and coordinate with Imran Khan. ISI should ensure his protection. We can send lightning strikes at Modi by using Zakir Naik to get the word out about Kashmiri and Indian Muslims' oppression.

I have been following him keenly. He almost had difficulties in Malaysia, but Mahathir took a stand against Indian (and their allied Malay Chinese) lobbies.

He will have no choice but to come to Pakistan, I have a strong feeling. UAE would love to earn free points with Modi, and KSA is unpredictable.

Another scholar who came out favorably and needs to be watched by us is Mufti Menk, he praised Imran Khan very strongly for releasing Abhinandan. He also could be brought into the fold of Pakistan and work with us to put pressure on Modi.
