The Iranian Defense Ministry has delivered new naval cruise missile systems to the Navy in yet another move to boost the nation's defense capability.

“The systems are capable of spotting and destroying different targets at sea,” said Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi at the delivery ceremony of the missile system on Monday.

General Vahidi pointed out that the systems include launch pads as well as spotting and missile guiding systems.

All the systems have been fully designed and produced by local experts, the defense chief further explained.

According to General Vahidi, the deployment of the missile systems along the country's coastline will not only boost national defense capability, but play a key role in maintaining regional security and stability as well.

Iran has achieved numerous breakthroughs in the defense sector and reached self-sufficiency in producing various types of military equipment and systems.

Iran announced recently that it is mass producing, and ready to export air defense systems.

“We can meet all our needs in the air defense sector by relying on domestic resources,” said a top Iranian commander.

“When we [design and] develop weapons, they will be mass produced, and we can export the surplus to other countries if deemed appropriate,” the commander added.

In the meantime, Iran has announced time and again that its military might poses no threat, whatsoever, to other countries as Tehran's defense doctrine is based on deterrence only.

Anyway, according to Vahidi's speeches in State Media and Press TV, It's just a new launcher + radar. Why should they announce it like this as people think it's a new missile?:what:

The Yingji-82 or YJ-82 (Chinese: 鹰击-82, literally "Eagle Strike"; NATO reporting name: CSS-N-8 Saccade) is a Chinese anti-ship missile first unveiled in 1989 by the China Haiying Electro-Mechanical Technology Academy (CHETA), also known as the Third Academy. Due to the Yingji-82 missile's small radar reflectivity, low attack flight path (only five to seven meters above the sea surface) and strong anti-jamming capability of its guidance equipment, target ships have a very small chance of intercepting the missile. The single shot hit probability of the Yingji-82 is estimated to be as high as 98%.[1] The Yingji-82 can be launched from airplanes, surface ships, submarines and land-based vehicles. Its export name is the C-802.

Of course it is Chinese C802. But the launchers Iran could produce before could just hold a single missile and launchers like these were imported from china. But they are produced locally now alongside with missiles.
