According to Chinese press reports, the new launch window for China’s first experimental space lab has been set for September 27-30. Chinese journalists from across the country have filled all the hotels and guest houses in the vicinity and have observed heightened levels of activity at the launch site in Jiuquan. The official news website for the Tiangong 1 mission, however, has yet to start a countdown to launch, which was delayed pending the results of an investigation into a failed satellite launch in August.

Tiangong 1 is the first in a planned set of three experimental space labs China will launch before beginning construction of a full-fledged space station. China’s space station plan dates back to the late 1980s. Current Chinese timetables for their space station, along with a consistent history of delays, suggest they will be completing their station in the early years of the next decade. Coincidentally, this is about the same time that the International Space Station is likely to be decommissioned.

I think China should stop sending satelites to space for 5-10 years since solar flares will be heating up next year causing loss to dozens of satelites and the Coronal Mass Ejections will cause geomagnetic storm on Earth that will fry all electronics, causing global blackout which could take weeks or months due to the power-generating devices that are loss and will take weeks to replace and install. Humans with their 100-year old "modern science" only understand less than 1% of the true workings of Sun-Earth connection.:taz:

Impressive. All the best to China.

who were the other countries to put their own lab in space?

is china the 3rd country to do it?

We had the Russian Mir and the International Space Station program. Considering that ISS has multiple countries involved we can't say that China is the 3rd country. But this is definitely mankind's third Space Station.

well considering that the ISS was built with russia rockets and american shuttles and that until recently only those 2 and china can sent people to space, we can say that china is the 3rd to be able to do so without help from others

Once we established the space station, Pakistan should be the first country to be invited on board...we're friend on earth and we will still be partner in space. :D
