7) Less stress on students for 10th and 12th Board exams. It won't be some sort of a do or die situation (unfortunately some students commit suicide because of cut-throat competition).
Yes, the coaching center town of Kota is notorious for student suicides.
The unscientific numbers on the marks sheet should not be the decider for a student's employment destiny or entrepreneurial plans.
1) Students having options to choose a variety of subjects. For example, I may love history and programming, so I can choose both during my course.
Agreed.
Also, the course should be well-rounded where there is humanities education in the technical courses. At present the case is not so because of which the technical students are generally apathetic to the injustices and disparities in the country.
2) Degree certificates, diploma certificates being handed as students complete their degree, etc. So if an unfortunate student drops out of engineering, he'll at least have a certificate which says that he has completed 1s year, diploma, etc.
I believe the arrangement should be to allow students to drop out if they so desire. They will be interested in something else and that field should allow their easy entry.
3) Focus on research in the final year (which was lacking till now).
1. The number of years in a course should depend on the subject.
2. The research should be carried out in groups.
3. The course ending should depend on the end result of the research. If the research topic ends so should the course. The PhD system should be abolished.
Two examples :
In computer engineering the first year should be about the fundamentals of computing. Then there should be project groups created which should produce / design elemental things like operating system, microprocessor, system on chip, quantum computing chips etc.
In civil engineering, the focus should be about how humans can live in various ecosystems. So the first year or the first two years should combine various currently different streams like geology, urban planning, agriculture, water engineering, weather and atmospheric science. This will allow project research and development into things like vertical farms, townships, traffic management, near-future settlement on desert and even on Mars etc.

Such arrangements should also allow for inclusion of people from other disciplines to enter projects.
