There are few 'new details' in this - one Frontier Corps soldier fired, and given that the meeting itself was tense and after conflicts between Afghan and Pakistani forces across the border, both sides would have assumed the worst and retaliated - the retaliation would have been even less organized and disciplined in the case of the poorly trained and disciplined FC soldiers.
As is typical, the American media distorting an issue and making a mountain out of a molehill to smear Pakistan.
It was on the front page of the NY Times and read it myself. It said one opened fire initially and then after he was gunned down every other Pakistani soldier opened fire on them from windows and one even tried running to a mounted MG
