New Delhi will bid for 2020 Olympics,do you think we can host them?

You can't because Olympics isn't just hosting just another sporting show, its an event to showcase your worth to the world. I don't think India will even be close in 2020 to do that. And more importantly IOC will consider your CWG, and we all know regarding that.... so in short fictional idea.

IOC chief himself has said that India still has a strong chance.

Well no point in arguing as only time will tell.

There was no accident, no mismanagement, no cancellation of event, no terrorist attack etc. etc.

Everything was about perfect from the inauguration to the closing ceremony.

It was just media created hysteria that taken toll before the opening ceremony after it it was a tight slap on the face of all the critics and the event was a success in aspects.

Further these events requires very good:

- Airport

- Public Transportation system (Metro, Low Floor, Cabs, Autos etc.)

- Thousands of Hotel room of all types

- Restaurants of all types

- Shopping places

- Tourist places

- Greenery

- Good road network

- Good connectivity with whole of country with Road, Rail, Air

- Sports infrastructure (like sports injury center) that too tested with major events

- Dozens of stadiums

- Good security cover

- Good hospitals

- Good military cover

- Air Connectivity with major international cities

the list goes on and on and on............

Hosting the Olympics there only mean one thing, more child labor will be employed in order to build the new stadium and convention centers. Look what happened during the Asian games, young kids carrying shovels taller than them. Not to mention, the Stadium for the Asian games was pathetic in my opinion as there are Colleges with Stadiums far superior to the one's build for the Asian Games in Hind. Asian Game stadium bad architecture, unimpressive design and engineering, and overall nothing grandiose about it. New Delhi and whole of Hind is not worthy to host the World Olympics.

There are countries that have already bid to host the 2020 Olympics like US, Japan, France, Spain, Russia, UAE, these countries have a far better chance of hosting World Olympics in 2020.

1)firstly cwg happened in india.
2)asian games happened in china.
3)stadiums built were according to international standards.
4)problem as u mentioned in cwg happened in cwg village which was much highlighted by media.
5)greece also hosted olympics,even they were planting trees before one day of the starting ceremony.
6)regarding to child labor,i accept it.but do u think entire buildings are built by child.this is problem and it needs to be addressed.


and after all,i will say we must host olympics and we dont need do and dont from others.

Yes India is a rich country, it can easily finance a big even like Olympic.
Even many people in India like A Raja, Hasan Ali or Sharad Pawar can single handily finance a Olympic event...

Think about Yao Ming of China, Basketball wasn't such a big thing there until his success in the NBA. Think about Li Na, who made tennis a big thing after her success in the woman's tennis.
I would assume that it is the same for India. Sports culture is something that can be developed. When new sports heroes emerge, they act as an inspiration to the future generations.

We should think about it with a different perspective.
If we get a chance to host Olympics, it will help us with the following

1. It will kick start the Infra Development at much faster rate
2. It will generate employment opportunities for poor
3. Security will be tightened
4. It will help develop sports culture in India.
5. Positive Image projection.

I guess with so many positives, India should bid for the games as early as possible. Regarding monetory part, I think GOI has enough but even then they should try to get the Swiss Black money and invest it for Olympic games. What better use can you do of that money anyways?
