New Automatic 70cc Motorcycle Launched in Pakistan

it's still Luxury here in Pakistan, out of normal man's approach. Hoping for the best though.
Infact the Indian manufacturers are now rising up, Be it the Bajaj partnership with ktm and kawasaki or hero purchasing EBR of USA or the TVS-BMW 310R, RE have their own cult following and mojo has garnered a lot of respect amongst tourers! Do you guys have decent 250cc bikes there or is the market just flooded with 100-150cc commuters?

Sadly my parents refuse to let me ride a bike.

Bad accident.
That's sad man...I had 3 bike accidents all minor...helmet saved me on one occasion otherwise I would've lost one half of my face!! I still ride everyday!! A bit conservatively though!!

The auto-sector in Pakistan is booming, especially with investments from renowned foreign companies such as Volkswagen, Volvo and more.



The motorcycle segment of the auto industry is also overseeing a spurt of investments. Given as how not everyone is capable of affording a car, motorbikes represents a more realistic option.

Just like how cars have moved towards achieving effectiveness and cost efficiency, motorbike manufacturers in Pakistan are also aiming to emulate that and expertise towards semi-automatic or completely automatic gearboxes, which are rarely found here.

Not long ago Superpower, introduced a clutchless/automatic scooter in Pakistan. However, it did not fare well at the time.

Now, Union Star is bringing the same technology to its recently launched 70cc bike. The technology is particularly useful for older people and female drivers, as it makes bikes very simple to operate.

Unlike normal bikes, these automatic motor-bikes have no gearbox, kick and clutch. The 70cc bike utilizes a direct-drive technology for its operation.

According to numerous sources, the 4-transmission bike is packed with a single cylinder engine and can hold up to 9 liters of petrol.

The price of the bike has not exclusively been established but the sources also claim that it will cost around 45,000 rupees to own Union Star’s new 70cc automatic motorbike.

Automatic Bikes: The Good and the Bad

The advantage of the automatic bike is that it requires minimal effort to start and most people prefer that. Living in dense areas, it becomes a hassle to up and downshift in quick successions. Since there is no feedback required from the clutch, the bike runs as you give it throttle. Given this, it will be much easier to learn for new bikers.

However, the automatic bike might not achieve popularity because people tend not to leave their comfort zones and manual transmission is what they are accustomed to. Although the automatic bikes will be much easier to operate, they will still require a change in mindsets.

It is a proven fact that bikers prefer a simple bike such as Honda CG125. There are numerous reasons for it as every roadside mechanic understands the bike and more importantly, it’s fully assembled in Pakistan – adding an economic factor.

Another reason why people may pass over this newly introduced automatic vehicle is that will require specialized mechanics. Part replacement for automatic bikes are expected to be much higher since they aren’t assembled in Pakistan. On the other hand, since everything is automatic and there are slightly less moving parts, it removes the human factor to eventually improve the reliability of such parts which tend to break down because of inexperienced riders.

This shows the level of engineering and intellectuals in pakistan. What tharaki sh itty butter made engine god sake we had these in england imported from china they break down within one week wiring problems. gear chewed. nut and screws come off. throttle breaks including cable. the kick start gets jammed. gear lever bends. The shell of the engine easily cracks.

sorry I ride a horse instead. godsake they cant make an engine. why not invite pakistanis from england to help establish a proper bike factory etc.

Bhai trust me . .no bragging . . .but the shit you guys are riding in the name of bikes is way beyond its era.

try something new . .demand your local supplier for new stuff . . . .companies provide what the people ask for. . . .u ppl are no exception :tup:

70 cc and 125 cc is normal. you will see them in 10's in each street. 150 and above is something you will rarely encounter. and it's not that the rider's don't like it or it haven't any market. it's due to the inability of Bike manufacturer's who only concentrate on 70 and 125 cc to tap Low income customer's.



You will be surprised if I tell you Harley Davidson tried umpteenth time to enter into Pakistani market but every time their studies concluded that Pakistani market is not ready for it.

Bro i am a naive in all this bike things. i had very little interest in bikes from day 1 that's why my knowledge of bikes is very limited.

but here is your guy. @Mentee , Check the Idea. you should definitely work on this. atleast, it will be a source for me to further increase my knowledge of bikes. :D

Wonder full Package in a very affordable Price. You Indian's are Lucky in this case. :P

In Pakistan, this year Yamaha Launched this 150 cc bike but it's very expensive as compared to Indian counterparts.

PKR : 190,000 . In INR it's around 105000. which is Insane for a 150 cc bike.

I heard on the forum someone claim that this automatic bike do not have clutch and gearbox.
I think everything is there but works thru some other system and not interfaced with human input. For example, clutch is operated from in put from throttling.
Least seems to be cheap and OK for certain class in Pakistan but not youngsters bike. Design is the same stone age type.

No it has a gearbox. I think the person who said that is incredibly ignorant about machines. Instead of Clutch automatic transmission have a system called torque converter. Which is probably very hard to explain.
