I can assure you that you are being fed exaggerated stories.

The figures for 1984 riots were around 4000-5000. It was no doubt a blot on India. But you may be surprised to know that it has not effected the Hindu-Sikh ties at all. I have lived with Sikhs all my life and I should know.

There are thousands and thousands of mixed families, Inter marriages are common and we get along fabulously. The Indian army still gets large numbers from the brave community (and they reach the very top) and they are contributing well in all aspects of national life in all parts of India.

And you are obviously wrong about Sikhs being in prison for 1984 politically inspired riots.

I have been in UK/USA/Canada and interacted with local Sikhs. Nowhere I have seen any support for so called Khalistan. They have families back home in India and they go there frequently and are doing a lot to develop their "Pinds".

So I am sure you will be disappointed if you are pinning any hope on that account.

Nope , who cares to what Canadian citizen of punjabi origin has to say.
