New Anti-Ship Missiles For The Bangladesh Navy

What made you think that there will be order for only 10-16 missiles? Of course there will be more order as BN plans to operate more new LPC, corvettes and frigates with western subsystem in future. Specially this tender indicates that BN's will arm it's six new frigates with a new AShM.

As the article and @Michael Corleone mentioned TESEO launcher is too bulky and BN wouldn't issue tender if it wanted Otomat which is already in service. Though i doubt we will get Otomat Mk 2-E as exporting missile exceeding 300 km range is restricted. Don't understand why Defseca mentioned Block E in the artcile.

Also Otomat maybe not the only option MBDA can offer as it has Exocet and Marte in it's catalogue. Anyway we already operate three types of AShM so i don't think there's any need to worry about operating cost.

I feel like Turkey might be the winner cause BN let Turkey to contest in at least four area (AShM, 30mm gun, 12.7mm gun and EW system) and if we exclude Otomat then ATMACA beat SSM-700 in range (ATMACA also beats Otomat Block IV). The missile is new and has more room to mature. Also BD-Turkey relation is currently very good and we are buying some new military weapons from Turkey.

Cooperation between turkey and Bangladesh is to rise. We will be surprised.

Will there be any conflict? I. e I believe the turks have won a contract to build a ship yard or supply a warship.

Will turks place aa higher priority with bd?

France will not allow the export of this engine, don't see Turkey as an alternative for this bid

What makes you sure about that? We always had troublesome relations with France; if France still sells us those engines after everytihng we went through in 2019, they'll continue to export the sngine. And you cannot deliver those missiles a day after from the contract; it would still take some time and if KTJ3200's integration will be completed by the end of 2021 then it'll be ready for deliveries if we win the contract

Yep, If we want, we can get 500 CTS800s for our own Atak's, then why can't I still see a Pakistani flag T129 in Islamad? Also, when you order missiles, you get hundreds of deliveries in the next year, and you don't order aircraft.

I don't think France will mind as they are always in for money. Exporting with third party component is nothing new. Few months ago French defense minister visited Dhaka to promote Rafale, UAV etc. Also you will get three years after singing the contract for LPC. So plenty of time.

Why not Pakistani missiles? :D
View attachment 643259
Range : 450-700
Dual seeker: Anti Ship/Land Attack

Or wait for our new Supersonic CM

MTCR restrictions being the first which Pakistan follows voluntarily. Secondly all our babur class missile are nuclear capable so unless we want international sanctions slapped on us. Lastly if china helped us in development of these missiles then they probably made sure we couldnt export any of them to a third party. Seeing that Pakistan hasnt shown any interest in exporting these systems gives credibility to all of the above points.

Bhai maaf kr, there is no chinese involvement here..
Its based on Babur.

France has been enthusiastic about selling high tech armaments to bd, from ships to fighter jets. Bd can’t afford most of them

Will there be any conflict? I. e I believe the turks have won a contract to build a ship yard or supply a warship.

Idk if there’s any cooperation in regards to navy except the missile tender and submarine purchase considerations. Army will benefit the most. Then the airforce

Even if we accepted your notion that Chinese are not involved still what kind of idiot makes strategic nuke capable weapons available for export? As for Chinese role in Babur just go over the dedicated thread relating to its development.

What kind of an idiot goes ballistic over a post? Am I fking selling nuclear CMs on PDF? Have a heart.

And do share chinese development BS.. I couldnt find it.. that said there is only 1 confusion and that is over the engine of babur.. which we know next to nothing bout..else what sort of an idiot expects others to help you build nuclear capable long ranged CMs and than talk bout MTCR.

This isnt the 90s where we bought and customised north korean short ranged battlefield ballistic missiles.

Also dont think Pak will be using nuclear warheads for anti ship missiles. That said we should try to sell short ranged version of such missiles.. much like Brahmos, which is essentially an export version if Yakhont.

Wasn't Babur reverse engineered from a Tomahawk crashed in Balochistan?

There are lot of theories regarding how Babur came to be one being as you mentioned. Some speculate that china helped us in its development after we shared the tech with them. Tomahawk had a range of over 1300km so if we reverse engineered it then why we couldnt match the range? Anyways there are lots of speculations such as Pakistan deliberately hiding its true specs and with secrecy surrounding this missile we will never know the truth.

Matching Tomahawk range will be tough because the later versions use an expensive Williams International F107-WR-101 turbofan engine with 600 lbf (2.7 kN) thrust (customized design and bespoke configuration), I don't know if Babur uses a more economical Chinese turbofan to match this thrust. In that case fuel consumption will be a lot higher. Plus the American engine also uses a special blend of fuel cutting down on fuel consumption.

A comparable engine is the TR60 by MicroTurbo in France. They are priced at $52,000 - $83,000 (est.). That is a LOT of money to spend on an expendable Cruise missile engine. Guessing Chinese engine (like that used in YJ62 or CM602) will be a lot cheaper but will not be as efficient.
