Technology and entrepreneurship are cornerstones of human growth in this digital era. A product-based fin-tech multinational with its premier client base of auto-industry Fortune 500 brands worldwide, Netsol has been engaged with emerging founders and technologies across the world for over two decades.

Nspire is the incubation initiative by Netsol set up by the vision of CEO Salim Ghauri, which has been formally operating to contribute to the development of the Pakistan technology and entrepreneurship eco-system since 2015.

Over this period, Nspire has incubated over sixty start-ups, held thousands of events and workshops, and gained good repute, network, and partners within and outside Pakistan. The last few years have seen a surge of businesses based on emerging technologies with a focus on engineering, tourism, education as well as social causes.

Nspire has been led by Ayub Ghauri since 2017, who has helped it to keep changing with the fast-evolving landscape of Pakistan. Under his vision, this year Nspire applied and won the bid for the new National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technologies (NICAT) with its consortium members, PAC Kamra, Air University, and Innovators Garage.

NICAT is being set up in collaboration with Ignite (National Technology RnD Fund) and Aviation City Pakistan (ACP), where Ignite is funding NICAT, being housed within ACP’s newly built Alpha Facility at the National Aerospace and Software Technology Park (NASTAP) situated at Old Chaklala Airport, Rawalpindi.

CEO ACPPL, Air Commodore, Dr. Liaquatullah Iqbal, SI(M) revealed that ACPPL will nurture the aerospace-related entrepreneurship eco-system of Pakistan through NASTAP, and promote, form, and develop small to large-sized aviation and space-related enterprises, laboratories, and R&D centers at the national level.

NICAT shall focus on aerospace technologies, high-tech engineering, and deep technologies related to ICT and connected domains such as cyber security, AR/VR, CnC systems, etc.

Through the allied partners and consortium member’s startups and businesses will have the opportunity to build or grow their businesses. The center shall bring these communities together, provide trainings, access to experts, mentors, networks, to prototyping and testing facilities (with mentionable facilities of PAC Kamra), and eventually partners and investors.

While sharing thoughts and remarks at the contract signing last month Netsol CEO Salim Ghauri said that NICAT will transform the potential of aerospace and high-tech ICT-related ideas into reality in accordance with national and global needs and trends.

Asim Shahryar, CEO Ignite, also stressed that the global aviation industry is estimated to be around $3.5 trillion at present, which presents a great opportunity for Pakistan. While sharing his vision, Ayub Ghauri said, “We at NETSOL are well excited to lead Aerospace Technology vertical specific NICAT in NIC ecosystem.

“We will be striving to bring out the best that Pakistan has to offer within Aerospace whether it’s the next generation of drones that enable access for hard-to-reach places, fuel efficiency through aircraft design while reducing carbon emissions, better user experience through superior simulators, and down to better luggage and cargo management etc. We shall influence all. Our target will be to go global and fly our green flag in the world aviation arena,” he added.

The Center is nearing completion and has opened its online application for its first cohort. NICAT shall host twenty-five startups for incubation/acceleration per year and we can all look forward to very interesting, innovative, and mind-capturing startups coming through here.

The implementation team is led by Program Director, Imran Jattala, who has been contributing to founders and eco-system development for over a decade and a half. He is supported by Principal Advisor and an established veteran in this space, AVM (r) Dr. Asad Ikram, who led PAC Kamra during his service years.

We need these sort of startups:-

Humanoid AI robot ? Seeing the thumbnail itself I am not going to watch the vid and waste my Capitalist country's assigned data limit. When we must remove all problems from humanity through revolution, like the Iranis have been doing since last September, how can anyone think about nonsense like AI robots ?

Lol, the video shows Iran has made one of the best robots in the world. It's not nonsense , just like the CPU , RAM , GPS, Microwave , Automobile, airplanes etc were nonsense initially.

1. I agree that Iran made one of the best robots in the world and its name is Imam Khomenei. :D

2. In this thread I have asked the "Mighty Aryans of Iran" present there to tell me the name of a single Irani CPU, operating system, data storage system and locally-designed spacecraft. The Iranis are yet to reply. :)

3. A useful robot is on the International Space Station ( Canadarm ). Is the Irani robot anything of this sort ? Does Iran have a space station in the first place ?

Name one Indian one!
Making a CPU is not difficult, even I can do it with discrete components, but making a VLSI commercially viable CPU is. Any country that puts its mind to it can achieve it by the same evolutionary steps as any other countries.

There is no Indian one currently but I am designing one. I wasn't talking about manufacturing processors. Any monkey can do it if he has the money to set up the factory and buy the ASML machines to fabricate the conventional semiconductor processors. I was talking about processor design. How many processor designs are there in the world ? :)

And we mustn't care for artificial concepts like "commercially viable CPUs". USSR and German Democratic Republic ( East Germany ) didn't manufacture processors for money.

And it shouldn't take an "evolutionary step" to fabricate processors if some country's people ask "Why should we form processors the same way that Intel x86 is and ARM is and so on, why can't we radically look at re-forming processor design so that we don't need anything from ASML and our processors can work in every condition ?".

Netsol is the pride of Pakistan. May Allah grant more success to Salim Ghauri. If more Pakistanis were like him then we would have been ahead of even South Korea.

Nobody saheb, what is South Korea ? A Capitalist country run by an anti-Communist government that is a voluntary slave of USA government and produces personal cars, cell phones, war weapons and KPop ? North Koreans who fled to South Korea complain of the totally competitive and anti-welfare nature of South Korea where they must struggle to put bread on table whereas in the North the system provided them food for free, housing for free, other things for free and life generally easy. Other than the above you want this for Pakistan ? :)
South Korea has the highest suicide rate in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), with around 13 thousand people taking their own lives in 2021.23-Nov-2022

Yes, all sane people want this. Capitalism is the path to success, unlike communism which leads to nothing but disaster. People who refuse to compete to create an impact don't deserve anything. Even in communist countries, you won't be allowed any of the things that you mentioned unless you bust your *** for the motherland. Nothing is free nor should it be. Countries that provide free education and healthcare do it by collecting a lot of taxes.

It's pointless for us to argue further on this topic as I am a diehard advocate of capitalism and will continue to be one.

Tell me this, when you came out from the womb did you have womb-engraved on your forehead these items : (a). Your father's name, (b). Your current religion's name, (c). Your current country's name, (d). A bank account number and the list of the bank balance you will have every month till you die ?

And the "Islamic" Republic of Pakistan has been Capitalist for the last 76 years, how successful is Pakistan ? :)

Designing a CPU is no difficult with the use of design software, it is the conversion to lithographic mask and making and fabrication that requires advance technology.

Khansaheeb bhai, you didn't understand when I asked how many processor designs are there in the world. It is not as if Samsung cell phones, Dell's laptops, India's IIT Madras, Iran's government and Turkey's military have their own architectures for the processors they fabricate themselves or give out to fabricators. Either they use the licensed ARM architecture ( from the British company of that name now part of SoftBank investment company of Japan ) or they use the now flavor of the season, the open source RISC-V architecture.

The processor "design" you are referring to just means that they use these available processor architectures and mix them with available or customized components like Bluetooth, Ethernet etc and fit them on a circuit board specific to their application or product. The combining is done in EDA software ( the design software you mention ) like Cadence which costs at least 5000 dollars. There are free EDA softwares but I don't know their capabilities. My organization will use an appropriate Xilinx FPGA and its programming software called Vivado to prototype our processor and OS. We will have to use some MEMS design software and MEMS fabricators to realize our processor in fixed form because it won't be based fully on semiconductors and thus won't need the lithographic mask you mention and consequently those fabricators who use those ASML machines. :)
