Please do tell as I am fairly ignorant of Indian modern history. What was the territory of India at the time of her independence and what is the current territory? What have been lost since? Of course, you cannot make a claim that says whatever British claimed is now rightfully Indian as it would offend our hosts here.

Actually, India had annexed Hyderabad, Goa and Sikkim. The Indians believe that they list Pakistan and Bangladesh as if they own British India. But keep in mind that India was created by Britain. So their nationality conscious starts with British India. Of course, they claim that their country was united by some ruler over 2000 years ago for a period of less than 100 years. In reality, India was a geographical expression with various empires and kingdoms come and go.

Nepal is actually one of these kingdoms. But as they were never part of British India, they did not become part of India after independence.

apart from Nepal, Sikkim & Bhutan.
Sikkim was integrated in 70's .
Modern India was not created by British it was created by Sardar Patel(Bismarck of India) who integrated more than 500 princely state into Indian union.
And BR Ambedkar who wrote our constitution an extraordinary man and champion of the marginalized. He being a Dalit knew the worst kind of discrimination that people of lower strata faced.

I'm tired of the Nepalese people blaming India for everything . Even their PM is doing that openly . I truly believe it's for the Nepalese to decide their fate and when the time comes accept them . If they try any steps that are detrimental to India they'll face serious repercussion .

Even china was not united in the past. Most of the todays territory in china other than tibet,mongolia,manchuria were fragmented under different kings. He simply wants to apply different yard stick to india.
