Nepal-Bangladesh bilateral trade halted

Get rid of Hasina first and you have a chance ;)

One step at a time, Hasina is getting old and won't be around for much longer just like most of her ministers (in their late 70s). Even in the AL the next generation of leaders don't have as much affection for india as they do.

He is getting desperate yaar to see India get pegged down some how. Can you blame him given the way things are going in Bangladesh? About 1.5 billion USD in FDI for Bangladesh last year compared to 34 billion for India....sheesh!

His desperation is epic! The threads he creates on India are also pretty retarded, but then, that's entertainment for your average bangladeshi. Talk about obsession.

Nepal airlifts 66 tonnes of aviation fuel from Kolkata | Business Standard News

Nepal on Thursday airlifted 66 tonnes of aviation fuel from Kolkata to overcome an acute shortage of petroleum products as Nepal-bound cargo trucks from India have not been allowed to enter by Madhes-based political parties for the past fortnight.

Nepal continues to reel under severe fuel shortage as agitating Madhes-based parties have blocked all entry points to press Kathmandu to address their demands.

A Nepal Airlines Boeing 757 airlifted the aviation fuel to boost the stock of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) amid growing worries that fuel shortage could force the grounding of domestic airlines.

"The airlifted aviation fuel will be used for our domestic airlines," said Nepal Airlines managing director Sugat Ratna Kansakar.

Following the shortfall in aviation fuel, Nepal requested international airlines to refuel their aircraft outside the country.

Officials said that after assessing all possible options, Nepal Airlines decided to procure aviation fuel from Kolkata due to short flight duration and other economic reasons.

Nepal is also reeling under severe shortage of other fuel like petrol, diesel, kerosene and cooking gas, following which NOC has called for a global tender to supply fuel.

Many hotels and restaurants in Kathmandu have started using wood for cooking.

Airlift from Kolkata....last time I checked thats part of India.

So where are all those people that were saying India is enforcing a blockade on Nepal?

.
hmmm so india is so stupid to impose a blockade and allow nepal to airlift from kolkatta.

Where are all those einsteins who passd the judgement already about india being behind the blockade?

Exactly.

The fact that Hasina has a personal soft corner for Indian administration is well-known. It was Pranab Mukherjee's family in Delhi who housed (Not helped -'housed') Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana after the Mujib family massacre and she is eternally grateful to them.

How could we elect such a first class Indian stooge and agent as our PM??

Unless it was because of our liberal electoral process and structure (we don't have the Sanatani communal hate like most Indian politicians) that she got elected.

But this is 2015 in Bangladesh - not 1975. Hasina's days are unfortunately numbered. She chose the wrong 'friends'.

Time to dismantle her entire support structure in Bangladesh (all the politicized administration members like those DC's around the country).

By the looks of it has already started.....

Nepal is very important to fulfill BD's future electricity demand.

We can also set up road and rail link through Nepal to China and ME to Europe.

Majority of these routes are close to reality all we have to do is link up with Nepal.

But all will be in danger if Nepal is succumbed by Madheshis.

Dabur is an Indian company, and Chyawanprash is a Hindu Ayurvedic product, I wonder why Bangladeshis need this, or even bother about it.

Other than Jamaatis, most Bangladeshis eat a spoon of chyawanprash every morning with a glass of milk. Jamaatis drink mutton soup.

. . . . . .
51% are fully behind India. The rest are divided. Guess you both suck at simple Math.
I'm willing to consider India's blockade to be false as the truckers can be understandably afraid of the violence occurring with the Madhesi protests makes it dangerous. If that is true, how does that make 51% of people fully behind India? If they are then those Indian truckers should go through the roads without any trouble.

51% are Madheshis and are pro India. They have nothing against the truckers personally for being Indian or anything like that. They simply want to apply a significant pressure on the hill tribes by blocking the trade routes. India has taken an officially neutral stance and asked Nepal to sort this out peacefully by fair political accommodation.

There is no official Indian stance that these trucks must get to the mountains to circumvent the blockade....so the Madheshis are not angering or acting anti-Indian by refusing these trucks to go through.
