Gen Tariq Khan, It is writing on the wall. As I said earlier, democracy in Pakistan is off the thieves, by the thieves and for the thieves. With 1.5 Crore votes they got, these people insist they represent 20 crore people. They have brought the State and the Constitution into conflict. I have no doubt that the Supreme Court will throw out these asanine amendments and black laws. However, I am also convinced that if we ever get to election 2018, then not only will it be business as usual with the same set of clowns but that as a country we would have exhausted our lease on life. Morally confused, economically bankrupt, politically divided, sovereignty violated, identity unknown and a doubtful relevance, we shall be game for our enemies and friends alike. Our destiny in the hands of others, our fate pre-ordained, and our future being dictated by outsiders. That is where we heading for. Line up these parliamentarians and ask them to explain what they signed as laws were amended and the Constitution twisted. Ask them. Very few would even recognise their own signatures.
So here we are in the midst of this sport called democracy, where a nation has been hi jacked by thieves, as they hold the very people who elected them in contempt. It is not about law, or institutional functionality, or best practices or morality but it has come to the point as to who has the muscle. The law makers violate the law, as the assembly buildings are usurped for party conventions, ousted and disqualified politicians running around with more government protocol than the PM, speeches being made defaming the judicary and accusing the Army, threats of breaking up the country if things dont go their way. All this being said with a sneer and a snarl, just because they can. As if this country is their personal fiefdom, their very on inheritance and we their personal serfs.
Its time now, for the sake of the people, for this State, for our well being, for our survival, for our sovereignty, for God's sake, the powers that be and are: move. I, as part of the people, I beseech others too to raise their voice and be heard. Dont let this country slip into an abyss just because you were silent or indifferent. I know there are some of a different view; and they somehow continue to cling on to the idea of democracy and liberty and freedom of speech and all the other buzz words. But how can one miss the signatures, it is stating the obvious, disaster is unfolding before you as you live this moment. You stand testimony to the rubbish that passes for democracy, you are a witness to a country being dismantled before your eyes. Forget the philosophical prose and poetry of the few books you may have read and the small experiences you gone through, the little travels you may have undertaken; it is time to be real, time to be practical, to call a spade a spade. So move now to save this nation. We are nolonger in a position to bear this experiment. We are done. We, the people, demand that this rabble be removed, and put behind bars for treason, theft, misuse of authority, defamation of institutions, contempt of court, nepotism and sheer disloyalty to the country. To be removed now, today, this moment.
