Need info on arm transplant

My cousin was electrocuted by 11000 volts and unfortunately the doctors had to amputate his right arm. He's only ten years old. Now I know he can get a prosthetic arm but is it possible for him to get an arm transplant? Like a real arm. I searched a lot on the internet about arm transplants but couldn't find a lot of info on it.
If someone can provide some info on it like where to get one and the costs etc.

The best bet mate would be asking the doctors that are treating your cousin, if you are in Canada then I will say there are national donors list where you can get info. on transplant related questions, check with the hospital if there is a waiting list for transplants.

I'm not exactly sure but he was climbing on top of his roof to get his tennis ball and lost his balance so to save himself he grabbed onto some electric wires and was electrocuted in the process. He's actually lucky to be alive but unfortunately his life will never be the same again.

Yeah you can get it but if your cousin is in Pakistan no luck... Take him to a western doctor, I think they can fix it...

Sorry to hear about your cousin mate. Limb transplant is still quite rare, and the success rate is very poor.

I think prosthetic would be the best bet for now, hopefully 10-20 years down the line there will be more options available for him.

Yeah you can get it but if your cousin is in Pakistan no luck... Take him to a western doctor, I think they can fix it...

Agree with this send a letter to the Canadian consulate and ask them if you can take your cousin to Canada for medical reason. I am sure they will allow you under humanitarian conditions.
I pretty sure even Dubai and SA should have really top class medical institutes where they can do arm transplant.

The Government Stanley Hospital in the city will launch a hand transplantation programme, Principal Health Secretary V.K. Subburaj said here on Saturday. Releasing the souvenir of the first Indian symposium on hand transplantation at a function organised by the Institute for Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery of the hospital, he said the procedure was challenging, requiring a team of professionals from various disciplines. Only around 40 surgeries have happened world-over as it requires expertise from various medical specialities, he said.

The hand transplantation programme was aimed at the 3,000 to 4,000 persons in the State who have lost their hands in accidents, he said. A team of medical professionals from Stanley Hospital will go to the University of Pittsburgh to study the programme conducted there.

I don't think this kind of transplant is available in Pakistan.

why did they amputate his arm? were all his tissues completely burned??

Limb transplants are still in their experimental stage but a robotic arm may help.

You should really try to somehow bring him to Canada, no matter the cost

i am afraid that the transplant is not possible b/c the immune system will not accept & for that there are immune suppressing drugs but it will make the matter worse .. , prosthetic arm will be best bet ... & Thank to God that he is alive b/c its a miracle that he survived ..
