What's new

Nearly 4 in 5 Pakistanis say that they have not watched any Indian movies in the past year: Gallup & Gilani Pakistan

New Indian movies are not worth your time, I have not seen an Indian movie for I dont know how long. But there is an exception the older movies were good of the 50s, 60s, 70s era.. Once in a while I still watch those oldies & goldies but new ones these a$$wipes try to imitate west and hence "dhobi ka kuta na ghar ka na ghat ka" For all practical purposes Indian movies are finished.

Unfortunately your sentiment is not shared by many. In UK Pakistani's flood to see Bollywood releases. Most Pakistan's have very weak sense of national identity. In UK I have seen Jinnah Restaurent, Lahore restaurent etc peddled as 'Indian'. Just look at the irony.
You jusrt busted the Two Nation Theory.

Had you said that in 2010 or before, you would have been right. However nowadays in the UK, most Pakistanis below the age of 30 know nothing of bollywood or india.

It's true most Pakistanis below the age of 30 don't even know what Bollywood stands for. It's dead among our young, thankfully.
took alot of effort but thankfully the younger ones are not THAT STARPLUS gENERATION.

.
I have watched punjabi movies, but not of bollywood.
The main reason is content and qaulity. Bollywood is getting crap and crappier. Even, south Indians movies are sometimes better.

We have several woods. We will get you hooked on Indian content, source does not matter :D

.
I've also not watched Indian movies this past year. Primarily because not many movies were released due to pandemic restrictions :cray:

Sure... a good effort/creation will create its space anyway, and it has no ethnicity or regionality for the fans. For example, a vegetarian will always appreciate Indians' approach towards food.

Anyway, there can be sports but I don't like that, however like some Indian satirists too... I wish I could learn more about culture and languages for better understanding.

I haven't watched a bollywood movie in over a year or two. Nor series. I hear the OTT ones are good but meh, I use them it to watch English ones. There aren't any good ones, now they make knockoff of South Indian movies like Drisyam😏
I wonder if indians themselves watch indian dramas?
Not the dramatic shit on TV. Ones coming on OTT platforms are good.

.
And I am sure that Literally no one watches indian dramas.I wonder if indians themselves watch indian dramas?
I am not talking about Soap Operas of Star Plus, Zee etc which I myself hate (although there is a good fan following for those too among housewives). I am talking about dramas on OTT platforms where even bollywood actors like Nawazuddin, Manoj Bajpayee etc work.

Young Pakistanis are very different and more educated than the older Pakistanis. Also, younger Pakistanis in the UK are more integrated in to British society and know nothing of indianisms or bollywood etc.

Once you develop a good taste of entertainment you will find Indian movies incredibly cheap.
I think influential people in Pakistan need to raise awareness of corrupting influence of indian movies on youth. They make a big impact on how men perceive women.
