Got to know this from Air Commodore Sir Kaiser Tufail : Not many know that Nawaz tried to bargain with America over nuclear program in 1998 by demanding:

1. 72 Fully loaded F-16s.
2. Lockheed Martin factory near Raiwind.
3. 70 Odd Abrams tanks.
4. And 40 Cobra helos to overjoy the army brass.
Also he emphasized to keep all the power centers in Pakistan charmed at least publicly.
At the night of 27th May 1998 PAF guys broke into US top secret cipher and discovered this cable :

After seeing this coded message PAF went on ultra high alert and it was decided to explode the nuclear bombs while America sleeps.

Here is a very interesting video (3 parts) where three people fairly deeply involved with the decision making (Ms. Abida Hussein; Dr. Qadeer; Sh. Rasheed) regarding the nukes.
Abida opposed the nuke test, arguing that Pakistan's economy could not sustain the sanctions. She even suggested that Pakistan try to get about $3 billion (huge sum in 1998) from Japan which was now refusing to India after Indian blasts. Sh. Rasheed and Dr. Qadeer were for the test because, otherwise, it would seem that Pakistan was 'bluffing' about having the nukes and then such a 'golden' opportunity would not come again.
Very powerful arguments from both sides. Tells you that even in the worst of democracy Pakistani decision making has been largely a collective one.

Yes I remember this very well. This stupid idiotic person Nawaz was not in the favor of testing the nukes the Americans offered the Govt. these things so that we don't test the nukes but it was because of Pak Army the nukes were tested. It was 100% at that time that Mr. Nawaz was not in the favor of testing the nukes and today he is taking the full credit that he was the one who tested the nukes.
It should be clear that these people are enemies of Pakistan, today the reason why Pakistan is suffering is because of these people. INSHAALLAH Pakistan will be victorious.
