It makes sense. Gen. Sharif is and has been, the driving force behind turning the Pakistan Army into a more effective counterinsurgency force and away from an overemphasis on conventional war with India which has become less and less likely with time.

Truthfully, I believe RS should get into politics, once he leaves the military. He has a lot of support, and an extension would ruin his popularity, just as it has previous COAS's. Best to get into politics (especially on a high note), if he wants to continue bringing change in Pakistan. He has the admiration and respect of the population, he would do well, if not outright win a general election.

NS recently got extension of his own life. Now not that he will start distributing extensions to others. If he gets extension for his govt., it will big achievement. It is time to think about yourself than others. Don't know what Nabeel Gabol is thinking.

Why would every second COAS join politics or make a political party?

Instead you make a political party of ex-men. It will be better alternative. You will have many people for foreign ministry alone.
