LONDON (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif hopes that he will soon rejoin the public in his home country, saying "my heart beats with the nation."

The former three-time premier, who is in London since November 2019 for treatment, expressed it at a Christmas event which was attended by PML-N minority wing central president Senator Kamran Michael, MNA Khel Das Kohistani and others. Mr Sharif also felicitated the Pakistani people on the New Year’s eve. He also lashed out at the PTI government for meting out injustice to people in guise of accountability, adding: “Days of cruelty are over now”. He said those who faced injustice would not be forgotten.

In 2018, an accountability court found him guilty of corruption in a reference related to his family s ownership of upmarket London apartments. He was awarded a 10-year prison sentence, but was released two months later when the court suspended the sentences, pending a final judgement. But in December 2018, he was jailed for corruption again for seven years in a case related to his family s ownership of steel mills in Saudi Arabia.

While serving his term, he fell ill and was diagnosed with an immune system disorder and other health problems. He later moved court seeking permission to travel to London for treatment.

In 2019, the Lahore High Court lifted a travel ban on Mr Sharif and the then PTI government also rubber-stamped the decision.

All the political forces (except PTI + few allies), Establishment, Judiciary, ECP, NAB, and media would join hands, to do mass-rigging of elections, whenever they decide to hold them, to contain PTI form forming federal and Punjab governments. That seems to be the joint agenda of all the afore-mentioned Haraamis.

It is not their numbers, which matter. It is their position. Currently they are holding GHQ, ISI, SCOP, all HCs, ECP, NAB etc. etc. That is their power and strength.

Well, he has few conditions. Imran Khan should be in jail, then disqualify, and remove PTI Punjab govt. But the establishment is scared because they know if he comes back he will be ruthless with the establishment and this time they won't be able to control Nawaz Sharif if Imran Khan is in jail or disqualify. They need someone equally powerful in politics to counter Nawaz Sharif... otherwise, the T20 will be between Nawaz and Establishment and PTI will be on stadium seats with popcorn.

Well, I'm always a proponent of taking the back seat and watching the fireworks fly. PTI should keep their rhetoric of elections and keeping these criminals on their toes, but do just enough as to not elicit a reaction; and let them steer the country into the abyss.
