You judged him to be not a politician and one who cannot lie well. I may differ, but for now I am content to withhold such judgements of his character (and performance).

Very true. Think about this. Muppets, cheaper by the double dozen, mostly ensconced in prosperous UK, routinely crap on about Uighurs as if a bankrupt Pakistan could do anything to China. But as you point out we all know the truth. So does IK. He knows like we all know that Chinks are gencoding the Uighurs. But what would you as [PM of Pakistan] do if asked the same question. We on PDF can pour out feelings but non of that effects our real lives one bit.

But of PMIK had said to FT "yep those Chinese are genociding the Uighurs and I am gonna raise hell with Xi Jinping next time I see him". Within 24 hours. End of CPEC. End of financial support from China. No more JF-17 Thunders. It would have devastating effect on Pakistan within 24 hours as the "higher then mountain love" would turn into "the higher then K2 hatred". This is reality of politics. And you saw IK struggling to keep a straight face and say "he does not know anything" in the most unconvincing manner possible.

Nawaz owes Mullah Deisel a big favour. I think with danger of Diesel's 72 virgin chaser rabble being let loose in Islamabad, joining in the disgruntled traders and PPP/PML-N on sidelines might have led to government quickly facing a existential crisis that even Gen. Bajwa would not be able to douse down. In this emerging threat Nawaz was let go so the opposition would break up and Diesel would be left high and dry. This is what happened and Diesel has packed bags, gone home.

The PTI government compromised for a very strong reaason.

Happens even in UK. Consider how investigation in defence contracts that supplied Saudi Arabia were placed above investigation so that it would not imperil future contracts to UK defence companies. Or how UK acted as American stooge to elicit the contracts for Rolls Royce to supply US fleet of Presedential helicopters etc.
