Nawaz forbidden from making speech in Davos due to corruption investigation

@Syed.Ali.Haider

IMO he was called in to give his views from his experience in fighting terrorism.

All I am saying is that we exercise the same caution when RS is being pumped up as we do when NS is pumped up. Those who pump up Pakistani leaders do so not out of the goodness of their hearts but because of their own interests. That is all. I do not mean any disrespect for the General or the elected PM.

:what: i was about to say that he should have left venue and depart for Pakistan the moment he was stopped But then this report said that the Prime Minister was not invited at the forum so am Like why the hell he went then?

Because Mr Nawaz doesn't have whats called 'Honour'. You see Khafee, despite the whole world knowing what kind of a person Nawaz is, he still gets unconditional backing from Saudis and the rest of the Arab world. That panama scandal and those Qatari royals coming to his rescue is no secret. I hope you got my point and what else I have been saying elsewhere?

No you are wrong. As far as the UAE is concerned, we are only supporting infra projects that are built / managed by PA. Now if you want to insult us, by clubbing us together with the whole Arab world, up to you.

UAE may not be involved with him but can you the same for KSA and others? If I recall correctly KSA had provided him extensive funds for his last election campaign along with a pool of expensive SUV's. Not to mention if it wasn't for them he may not even be alive today.

Sorry cannot comment on KSA or anyone else. But you didn't answer me, is it fair to paint UAE with the same brush?

Well if UAE isn't involved with Pakistani politics then of course you are right.

You need to learn how to read properly. Being a guest does not mean you are a speaker.

On topic: Masala news based on no specific evidence.
He wasn't invited to speak at all.

“The Panama Papers showed the world how the crooks of this world stash away their money,” Swiss anti-corruption expert Mark Pieth said at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters.

With due respect to all my fellow countrymen here . I doubt the authenticity of news or the way the topic is created. We as a nation need to be much mature while we differentiate what is insult . No matter what NS is n in how many cases he is involved but when he as PM of Pakistan is somewhere n not respected it's an insult to country not to an individual named nawaz. And yeah a loads of people were invited to the forum doesn't mean all delivered speech.
P.s . I am not a noon leagui neither a patwari :girl_cray3:

Nawaz forbidden from making speech in Davos due to corruption investigation
In contrast, former army chief Gen (r) Raheel Sharif was held in great reverence in the conference as he addressed several forums and participated in many debates

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s failure to make a speech during his four-day stay in Davos has sparked resentment among the people.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif spent millions of rupees on his luxuriant visit during the visit but failed to address any important forum because he was not allowed by the management of Davos Economic Forum to address any function.

The main reason for not allowing the prime minister to deliver a speech on any forum was said to be the alleged involvement of the prime minister in massive corruption in Pakistan. He could only hold a meeting with the Sri Lankan prime minister and no bilateral meeting with the head of any other country took place. The entire nation was desperately frustrated over the country being made a laughing stock by the prime minister during his visit.

In contrast, the former army chief Gen (r) Raheel Sharif was held in great reverence in the conference and he addressed several forums and participated in many debates. The meeting of the World Economic Forum is held every year in Davos in the month of January and world leaders are invited to address it.

Nawaz Sharif had gone to attend the Davos Forum without any invitation from its sponsors and spent millions of rupees on his visit out of the national kitty. But he had to face disappointment when he was not allowed to address the forum. The prime minister stayed in five-star hotels in Switzerland at the cost of the nations’ taxpayers.

Official sources said he spent over four days there just talking to Pakistani journalists before leaving for London in sheer despair. The PM had made special arrangements for his visit to Davos and he had a speech prepared. But he could not present his written speech in the forum.

The official spokesman declined to comment on the matter.
