PNA bracing for major reconstruction
KARACHI, July 8 (APP)- The Pakistan Naval Academy (PNA) is
bracing for a major reconstruction.
This was stated by the Commandant of the PNA, Commodore Asif
Saleem.
This, he added, is aimed at achieving an all round improvement to
make PNA a well-equipped and modern naval training centre.
Recently, PNA has been recertified by the Lloyd's
Registered for a period of another three years.
Besides meeting cadets training requirements for Pakistan
Navy, PNA has been entrusted with the responsibility of training
cadets from the brotherly Muslim countries.
PNA is the alma mater of nearly 2,000 officers from the
brotherly Muslim countries.
It has trained officers from Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Ghana, Iran,
jordan, Kuwait, lebanan, Libya, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Araabia,
Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates.
PNA has the distinction of being the first ISO certified
armed forces' academy in Pakistan. It has been re-certified for ISO
9001-2000 standards in April this year.
The 85th Midshipmen Commissioning Parade of PNA was held at
its premises here on Friday.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, who was the chief guest on the
occasion, reviewed the parade.
