Nato supply line to reopen ‘relatively quickly’

So why does Pakistan keep taking US aid? If it can really do without it, why does it take US aid?

Ask the leaders who are running this whole business of Pakistan.

Looking at Pakistan, do you seriously think we need a penny as aid or even loan.

.
I have a weird feeling about the U.S. and Pakistan relation..

If the U.S. does not give you F 16 or other defence equipment, she is your enemy. If you do not get the aid, she is your enemy.
Go Amrika go.

If Pakistan pursues HER interestes, the U.S. takes Pakistan as an enemy. ETC

Can't you guys have a moderate relation instead of an extreme relation on both sides?

The U.S. did not commit the relationship with Pakistan. Similarly, Pakistani gov did not have any roadmap other than getting aid and toys.

We can mend our relationship--NOT STRATEGIC but ECONOMIC--

Think how many Pakistanis live in the U.S. yet you failed to have a strong lobby.

You are mixing up what Taimi said.

He said "in reality", Pakistan can do without it, because of the immense resources the country has, of which indian trolls and indian one liners are unaware.

But, "in practice", it wants to take US aid, because, everyone knows, Pakistan is an impoverished country. Where the aid ends up at the end, is irrelevant.

I have no idea why are the Indians living in a fantasy that we can't survive without US aid. Are they having some problem in understanding things or is it due to the Pakistan phobia syndrome.

Every other Indian has this to say, pakistan will not run if US stops the aid.

So when we got sanctioned during the 90s, was there any US aid ?? Don't think so, then how did Pakistan survive.

Have the Indians any idea of how much resources Pakistan has ?? How much internal resources it can generate.

Agriculture which being around 22-24% of the economy, gives just 3-4Billion in taxes, so if we just tax the agri sector, we have potential of generating more then 200B rupees, more then 2B$$ yearly.

Similarly, if our economic manager can reduce the losses of the govt run organizations, we can save another 2-3B$$ yearly, if done so, aid / loans far away, we can start repaying back the loans we are under, and in few years time, completely independent from any loans or aid.

But our bad luck is that we have corrupt, incompetent leaders / politicians, running this country, due to which we are in such crisis.

So would be better for the Indians to talk with facts not sarcasm, as you people have no idea about Pakistan and its potential.

You are absolutely correct my friend ...but can you do me favor...if you can show us the example or instances where Pakistan has survived without USA aid then this would really enlight us...And of course these are the news that is being reported from your newpaper, media and your own people only....And again...1990 is a log way past man.....this is the age of 2010....And again the critical question id Nato forces are klling terrorists who are of course citizen of Pak by enetering into your territory since quite few time..And how can your country is tolerating it??? If for a few second i assume that you are correct...then every intelligent person should expect that Pakistan should stop assiting NATO forces on the basis of breaching its national sovernity....but that is not happening now....That is the reason why every one beleives that Pak survives only with pay check from USA....

And agin ...if USA is breaching your national sovernity, then how come your army and gov shamelessly makes a trip to washington for asking for aid for during the flood time....See i understand that at the time of natural calamity ...usually frinds and world community always provides aid on humanatarian basis....but your ARMY and GOV went to Europe and USA deamandning aid and threated than if aid is not provided then so many terrorist will be created.....Ultimately you have turned AID and Help of countries as an blackmail/demand....

This is just and tip of an iceberg of example that i have discussed...

So i think GoP had achieved its target of fooling its populace, now its back to business

The word "enemy" is used by the people in general.

The actual word between Amreeka and Pakistan is "not so co-operative ally", 'an aloof ally"

Thanks Mr Multani for your sensible remarks..

You can go on by saying that Pakistani Americans were not in a good economic condition to even THINK about lobbying. Personally, I do not buy this idea..Where there is a will, there is a way.

Pakistanis could have a strong lobby group if they had a sense of patriotism.
Burning the flags of the U.S. or India is not a sense of patriotism. Rather, patriotism is something which makes you nationalistic. You know how many civilians are 'bhijli chor'--are they the gov?---the army?--No, they are the people--
So, there is no ideological patriotism found in Pakistan!

Jewish people should be an example for you!
How they organize and help each other!

the above proves exactly what Taimi was pointing about indians. They bring the whole country of Pakistan, 200 million people, to the brink of survival on just american aid.

What are we missing in our relationship?

Fact--Israel does not listen to the U.S. every time--Yet, their relationship is somewhat strong.
On the other hand, we have to fulfil each other's demand and if we don't--Alas, enemy, enemy...

who said it was?

You know how many civilians are 'bhijli chor'--are they the gov?---the army?--No, they are the people--

But it is wrong to generalize these thieves over the whole nation of Pakistan of 200 million people.

Jewish people should be an example for you!

I dont think it is appropriate to use them as an example. A better example would be Chinese people, who are our friends, and are extremely organized and national.

you know obviously why that relationship is strong

I think the relationship can be summed up in one phrase,

"just an ally"

didn't take long! will NATO stop crossing over the border? will US stop drone strikes? if this isn't the part of the deal, then GOP is givin in too easily!!
